I just bought one as I already had the Dyson DC33 and loved it. I'm keeping that one for using upstairs and the new one for downstairs. But, I agree this one is very heavy when I've tried it out, although when I checked the weight it's supposedly lighter than my DC33. I just got this Dyson Ball Animal 2 Blue. It came with all sorts of attachments. However the Cleaner head Assy kept coming put and would not stay in place. Although Dyson was quick to send me a replacement, I am surprised with the quality control, which I feel should have been more robust. My question is, is there any difference between the various color types Blue, Purple and Iron with regards to the place it is manufactured, the quality of the components that has been used and its overall specifications. Thank you for your time.

Don't gloss over the fact that the storage for the accessories is atrocious. The small tool constantly gets knocked out as it is not held securely. Also using the attachments is pretty unwieldy. Trying to use the attachment on the end of a big wand that is tightly kinking the hose the whole time is not my idea of a usable tool. My other gripe about this vacuum is the bin size and how it collects dust in the crevices that is hard to get out when you empty it, and you will be emptying it a lot. That being said, I love this vacuum. It cleans like no tomorrow. It is extremely maneuverable. It feels like a pro tool when you use it.

I’m visiting my sister for 3 weeks in the U.S. at the moment and she has a dog and she bought this exact model. Let me tell you this weird thing is a suction powerhouse, but a nightmare to use! I help her in the household while i’m staying in her house and I never encountered a more inconvenient vacuum cleaner in my life than this one 1.) This thing is really heavy. “It’s on the more heavier side” is an understatement. My sisters house has a second floor and lifting this monster up and down doesn’t scream convenience to me. 2.) It has a very weird and stiff manoeuvring mechanism. I don’t know how exactly to describe it. You have to use it to understand what i mean. 3.) THE HOSE… My sister showed me one time really quickly how to get this hose out of its dock but i seriously can’t remember anymore how she did it and since than i’ve been trying to get it of my self but it doesn’t matter what button i push or in what way i grab and pull it, it won’t come of. I have to ask my sister again on how to do it but it’s really frustrating that you basically have to look in the manual to figure out how to detach that hose from its dock. it shouldn’t be this complicated and it should be self explanatory, but it absolutely isn’t. 4.) You are absolutely dependent to use the hose because thanks to the stiffness of that thing and the shape of the intake you can’t go into the corners of a room with that. If you want your corners clean, you have to use to hose which is an extra step compared to every other normal vacuum out there were you can easily manoeuvre into a corner. Also, if you have stairs you also have to fiddle with the hose (like shown in that review) because like a said that thing is huge and heavy. This vacuum is super powerful but i just can’t deal with all the inconveniences. My sister actually wanted to return it for the same reasons but her husband convinced her to keep it and now she’s regretting that decision. Every standard 100$ vacuum is easier to manoeuvre and use than this thing. I will never ever complain about my cheap standard vacuum cleaner at home after i’m done using this monstrosity.
@ModernCastle2 жыл бұрын
Lots of your criticisms are well founded. It's not super easy to maneuver, it's heavy, and the hose could be better. However, what it lacks in maneuverability it makes up for in raw power. That suction power is why you buy the Animal 2. That said, I would reconsider using a $100 vacuum. Any vacuum that cheap isn't a sealed system. Meaning a large portion of the dust you intake will just spit out of crevices and cracks in the vacuum as you're cleaning. You generally don't start seeing fully sealed / HEPA vacuums until $250+.

The suction chart thst you did is misleading. Yes the numbers are small across all vacs but what you have tk understand is that on the v11, the head is much smaller and it has a smaller footprint. Therefore, the suction power on the v11 is actually gonna be more powerful than the suction of the mulitfloor and even the animal2. Because the suction will be applied on a smaller cleaner head, the cleaning power will be more 'concentrated' on the v11 whereas the 305 airwatts on the animal 2 has to be applied tk a much wider and bigger cleaning head - which will be less concentrated because that suction will be applied to such a big area

Okay, just received clarification on this matter directly from Dyson. My third call to Dyson, all with different answers, so take it for what it's worth. I was told by this Dyson rep that the air watts at the cleaner head (brush bar) are 215 and 29O at the hose??? I have no idea where 306aw ever factored in. However, the rep told me that the air watts were POSSIBLY decreased due to complaints by consumers of there being too much suction. Since I prefer the stronger suction, i will stick with my Kenmore.

The band? What do you mean exactly?

@@ModernCastle sorry I meant the belt.

@@rosaliazavalz9384 I believe only Dyson service centers are able to replace it. I don't believe they provide instructions for how to replace yourself.

Anyone know what an air watt is?
@ModernCastle3 жыл бұрын
Airwatt or air watt is a measurement unit of the effectiveness of vacuum cleaners which refers to airflow and the amount of power (watts) a vacuum cleaner produces and uses. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airwatt

The way the hose and tools works is horrible. It's a struggle to get the tools onto most surfaces.

I was wondering if it was sturdy? With two teens at home, they destroyed the Electrolux...
@ModernCastle4 жыл бұрын
Relative to most other uprights, yes. Granted, it still has its limitations. But in my view is the best build quality in an upright vacuum at this price range. To get something substantially higher quality you'd need to spend quite a lot more.

otarelle I have had one for 15 years! It’s amazing and simple to maintain and clean.

Out of curiosity, what vacuum would you consider to be a good height?

Do you ever test out Sharks? I think Dyson is a horrible vacuum bought this same one. Returned after two day. Thing does not stay up try to pull out of the closet falls over. The bin just falls off and tons of dust sticks to the ball. This is kinda telling me not a true sealed system. To use the hose I think was a huge pain. I have the Apex with zero m and love it. So much more user friendly. It doesn't fall over , Led lights, and it doesn't make a cheap plastic scrapping wheel sound when using it. I think Dyson is over priced cheap plastic trash. Sorry I see that you are totally into them. I do like your videos so will still watch and give you thumbs up man!

The reason you cant put it back up is because you dont care to make sure you hear that click that tells you its upright.
@donb19794 жыл бұрын
@@chrispythebot um no I did still would go to pull it out of th closet and dam thing would fall over. Pure trash

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a poor experience with Dyson. To answer your question, yes, we do test Shark vacuums also. You can find all of our Shark vacuum reviews here - moderncastle.com/best-shark-vacuums/ As a side note - we really do love the Shark APEX Zero M. It did really well in our tests.

The dust sticking to the ball is a static dust that you have on TVs, laptops etc. not any sign of leaking.

I don’t know how long vacuums are supposed to last, but I’ve had a Dyson dc14 low reach since 2006. Just ordered it first replacement part (u bend). So I can’t really say Dyson is trash like Don Boucher... I appreciate the video, but where is the pet hair?
