@@mbdg6810 they don't care anymore they argue anything close. because there's no repercussions for it. so what if at the end of the game they expressed their displeasure and get kicked out. they're right back the next day. all ejections should come with a nine inning mandatory suspension. for pitchers 3-day suspension and increases for any additional infraction. and umpires too. each month if you fall into the bottom 8 umpires in accuracy you get placed on probation for the next month. if you remain in the bottom eight you get relegated to the minors. and the top 8 from the miners get brought up to the show. and one more thing about ejections, if you don't immediately leave the field once ejected, for every 10 seconds you remain you get another day suspension. no more arguing, there is no point to it, so respect the game and stop making it look stupid.

The MLBUA manual wants plate staying inside the dirt circle. This was an exceptional situation because plate was pointing out Descalso’s use of video to argue judgement which as Lindsay cited is an automatic ejection. There are some older stadiums where the umpires have to walk into the dugout to get to their locker room. Other than that, there is simply no reason for an umpire to enter or even get near either dugout. It happens sure…but, it’s not how their superiors want them to handle things.

I think the umpire induced these ejections by his attitude towards the bench. Irrespective of whether he made the right call, he escallated the situation by walking towards and shouting at the bench. There is often talk that a player or coach losing their call is automatically ejected, and if you use that standard here the home plate umpire would have been tossed. There needs to be more visable umpire discipline when they step out of line.
@mr.larocca51504 ай бұрын
100% . The Unpire escalated the situation. It was bad form. An umpire should never inflame a situation. This is not a controversial take at all, but it seems like this channel drifts more and more towards pro- umpire propaganda as time goes on.
@neilflood65084 ай бұрын
@@mr.larocca5150 I agree on most of what you say. I don't think the channel is overtly pro umpire, most of the time the umpire is right and the channel agrees. However the channel could do a better job of calling out umpires when they are wrong. MLB's umpiring problem to me is not accuracy of calls but attitude between players/coaches and umpires for which there is only visible discipline for one side. Some umpires are good at de-escallation while others seem to look to escalate matters.

As a Cards fan I have never liked Marmol. It feels like the only reason he is here is because of his age. It’s pretty ridiculous when some of the players are almost as old as you. Or older than you. Which was the case when Pujols, Molina, and Wainwright were playing. I don’t want a manager who is able to still play in the majors. I want a manager who looks like he has been around the game for baseball for forty years. Someone who is actually taken seriously. This young manger movement is ridiculous. It would also help Marmol just a little bit if he was a good manager.

I have never been a fan of Marmol, but a lifelong Cards fan. I have watched several videos on this channel but don't recall one ever chastising Umpires over their horrible strike zone understanding. On the contrary plenty offering excuses and loopholes for bad zone implementation. To be fair, perhaps I just haven't seen one. If that is the case I recall my critique. Obviously there are going to be missed calls. No issue there. But be consistent. The problem here was not just this pitch, which is borderline, but the other pitches throughout the game that were way off the plate on both sides. Bad Umpiring is bad Umpiring. Let's take away their excuses and implement the computers. While not a fan of instant replay or many other changes in the game, this one is long overdue and would eliminate the Umps thinking anyone wants to see them be part of the show.
@OldBenKenobi23184 ай бұрын
Getting rid of human umps is idiotic. Human umps have been a thing for over a century. The game is beautiful the way it is. Making the game robotic takes away a lot of the charm of baseball. Let’s also not forget the fact that umpires have improved. A quick google search tells you that. They have been the best they ever have been. People like you just think having a 2D strike zone plastered on your screen makes you an umpire.
