No. Starfox and F-Zero are like Dust in the Wind, not Metroid. Since the last Starfox game released you've had Metroid Prime 3 and and a Wii Version of MP 1 & 2...AND Other M. There are much more Metroid games than there is Starfox and F-Zero; two equally important franchises, but slightly less popular I would imagine. Frankly, I'm glad Miyamoto announced StarFox instead of yet another Metroid game. Outside of Mario, Zelda and Pokémon, Metroid is probably the biggest franchise Nintendo has, and it's about time they focused on something smaller.

PERILEX No, No it wasn't. It pissed of many fans of the original conker games. Now we can get shitty knock-offs of a original character, great. Project spark isn't anything bad in itself, but the fact that microsoft put there middle finger up to conker fans and basicly said "We're too lazy to make a conker game, do it yourself." pissed off alot of people and made conker fans hate the game for that. For the most part i agreed with Yahtzee this go around. Sony brought some interesting stuff, but the Vita TV (combined with the PS Now) really caught my eyes. Microsoft was flailing to me (i have little stakes in the whole thing). But I think Nintendo did great this year. I came away from E3 cautiously optimistic for Wii U owners, and even my interest in the Vita TV waned a bit because of all the "ifs" compared to what Nintendo has coming up that I can actually see- less was throwaway to me there than all the rest. but then, my preferences are more supported from Nintendo than others, so there is that.

Consoles hit a mire 2 generations ago. PC has more variety but it's very much a case of incremental gameplay improvements. Indie games are where most of the fun is at now. The year on year franchise cows are all safe but profitable which leads to more generic crap being produced. Devs learned how to pretty everything up visually but at its core storytelling, mechanics and interfaces have been in a plateau since half life, dragon age, gears of war, telltales monkey island, halo and the one we can't not mention. CoD (IMO biggest travesty was turning battlefield into a CoD with solo-vehicles franchise-hybrid) the big companies appealing to the masses but not enough specialist titles for enthusiasts get showcased often. It's probably why the "PC gaming master race" thing started, we end up with shoddy AAA games due to lazy console ports (further weakening already stressed franchises) while most of the interesting stuff ends up being a tightly focused development by an independent studio (LoL/DOTA, Planetary Annihilation, FTL, elite, amnesia or Thomas was alone. (or are monopolised by a greed driven company and cloistered on just one platforms or no better reason than to sell/ get people invested in out of date hardware).

I hate to break it to you Yahtzee but the protagonist of Far Cry 4 is from the same place the game takes place in. He was just taken out of the country by his mother at a young age because the entire region was embroiled in fun things like civil war and ethnic cleansing. He's actually some kind of Nepalese bread that has been photoshopped by American society into a piece of white bread. He then gets thrust back into his home country and has to scrape away the added pixels with an eraser tool shaped like a Kukri.

Except when you look a bit deeper, you find interviews with the Devs which contradict others, we know nothing about what your actual aim is in the game and that this is the type of project which can fall pretty quickly. I'm not saying the game will be bad, I'm saying people really need to temper their hype around it.

345tom Yeah, I thought about that as well. I doubt the game will be bad, since there are games like Space Engineers that share some aspects of space exploration, and it's very addictive. Time flies by, while playing games that don't give you a centered sense of time. What I mean is, if they continue to trek down the path they are in, it might succeed. But I think the game is only due in the spring of 2015-2016, and until then everything may change. Just like Yahtzee said, the hype quickly deflates.

No matter how well you structure your arguments, no matter how good the points you make are, if you have Nintendo in your name, it obviously means you're bias and talking out of your arse, even if you did call the company out whenever they made mistakes. To be fair, this only focused on the press conferences, Nintendo dedicated the rest of E3 to showing a practically constant stream of actual gameplay, not that Yahtzee would talk about anything Nintendo did if he can't find something to complain about in it.

Well that was depressing, even though it's Yahtzee's job by this point to be as critical and depressing as possible. I actually like a lot of the material coming out of E3, including Far Cry 4, Destiny, Evolve, Rainbow Six Siege, ect... This video makes me want to ask what your plan is? Let's say Yahtzee is responsible for PS's or Xbone's new E3 game. What is it?

Evolve does look interesting good devs as well. Destiny is borderlands/diablo played out in the halo engine, could be fun but could also be tedious as hell. Every extended play had a 5-15 minute boss fight where other than the one instakill move/ projectile spam every boss had enough hit points to naked the fight an issue of patience not skill.

I suggest you not think too deeply about it besides he said he was on the Wii U's side because to him it was a console and not an imitation PC without the advantages of upgrading the hardware along with the lack of backwards compatability therefore erasing console history one generation at a time. Am I the only one who thinks that Yahtzee was being selectively biased against Nintendo this year? He says that they don't do anything new, yet this year, he bashes them for something they DID new (Splatoon), and ignored everything else that didn't fit with his "Nintendo-are-becoming-unorginal" viewpoint (Xenoblade Chronicles X, Project Giant Robots, Project Guard, Bayonetta 2, Project S.T.E.A.M, etc)..

I can still be excited about a game while simultaneously being objective about it. That's part of the reason I'm excited about it. Everything I've seen so far has it shaping up to be the kind of game I really want to play, but conversely I'm also aware that it could all just be clever marketing. Mariyo If we equate to cars then 30fps is like a regular VW Golf TDI. It's fine, and can be fun but nowhere near the optimal. 60fps would be like a BMW M3. That's what you want, and that's what a dedicated machine should be able to produce. Now the 144fps and 4k resolution of some rigs are like the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari. This is what everyone wants but not everyone can achieve because of limited financials. In the 21st century, any games console should be able to do 60fps. Hell even the WiiU can do 60fps and 1080p.

I think for this year's E3, he was being preemptively biased. To quote a Forum post on this video: "The solution to anything that does not fit into his view of cinematic trailers, uninspired sequels and the three consoles failing is to simply ignore it or twist it into something bad." With Nintendo, we got nothing BUT gameplay trailers, but he just outright ignored those in the video. In response to a new IP (or 2), a completely different LoZ, AND Bayonetta 2, he just ignores those and continues banging that "Nintendo releases the same old shit" Glockenspiel that he has been hitting for a VERY long time. And for the record, I don't think Splatoon would be in Smash..... Sony shows us games from developers Yahtzee seems to respect as well as a remake of a game he was positive about for a change. His response? ''How dare they be so smug!'' I'm one who usually likes how critical and negative Yahtzee can be, but this video is just dishonest, if not downright selective hearing about E3......
