@@eXactiveQ US air pollution restrictions make it impossible for this vehicle to get registered after import, it's really difficult with many other cars as well... You can look up what happens to japanese imports, it's bullshit... imo USA basically didn't like that people buy cars from 3rd countries

@@nismosunny You can blame Mercedes for that. New emission standards at the time lowered power for US models when the W126 S-Classes came out so everyone bought grey imports from Germany. Of course MB didn't want their US dealers to lose revenue so they pressured congress into a law that only cars of 25 yrs of age or older can be imported. Still stands today....

Man, nice to see you finally have come to the digital age and away from the tractor tech. But you have done many things wrong with this engine, maybe not wrong, but unnecessary, first of all the 400cdi pump doesn't need aux pump to feed it, it has a gearpump in it. Intake manifold is good for up to 700-800 horse without any modifications. Tuikku has done couple of very powerful cdi engines, and you can get 400 horse with vnt turbo, stock manifolds and stock exhaust without the cat. But you are not going to get there with those amg injectors, they flow only to around 65-70hp each on 1800bar.

Any plans for w211 om648. And the biggest concern in this build is to carry out thorough cleaning intervals for cold air intake filter. Hope you will come up with a custom airbox.

I am more of a Honda guy myself but i daily mercedes diesel and want to get into tuning these things. Are there any mercedes diesel tuning communities or forums or facebook groups etc one can join? I havent found much at all on the internet, just a couple guys in scandinavia or you in the uk or some eastern european blokes but no communities where you can learn about the cars and the possibilities, i mean with honda its massivly different so much resources on the internet and big communities etc. very good. but all the diesel guys seem to know what they are doing allready and there are no communities lol.

I realise it's not all about the money or practicality but you can buy an E55 for peanuts now, they have the big brakes, suspension mods and big wheels as standard. I also get that some weird (!) people like turbo diesels but the E55 engine is really nice with a wide rev range of useable torque, I suspect it would cost less and on the road be no slower than this modded beast.

In summary he didn't treat it well but i love it still. I hope to get a E55 at a good price like yours, enjoy it!

i got W211 OM648 232kw@ wheels with 722.6 gearbox and similar setup but with stock turbo(hybrid on it) im running 2 bar boost AMG nozzles 400 cdi pump and more .... i got 315hp @ wheels and 777nm@ wheels , but my draivtrain loss is around 17-18% so i think its 380 engine hp not 400 :)) however , have you measured 100-200 time on this car ? im realy curoius mate :)

I just bought a 96 E300D with 338,000 miles on it. It's rusty and crusty. Bought it for $500. My friend who I bought from says it isn't worth "restoring" saying if it breaks, I could sell the engine for more than what I bought the car for. Is there any truth or is it more to what I want? Odd that the stock car was only making 160hp at the engine, when quoted is 204hp. I had a saloon one of these and it definitely wasn't down at 160hp, as I had a 270 CDi CLK at the same time, that was 170hp, and the E class 320 CDi absolutely destroyed it.
