Great video. Feed the soil not the grass. Good point on the spot next to the road.

Looking forward to your experiment results. Thanks for the view of KBG and POA seed, it's helped me. You've always had problems with that strip along the strip. Still think you need to buy a soaker hose and use it along the street. But yard is looking good.

First mow for the year today, finally some sun in the forcast. Test out some DGL and see if this grass grows. Wait to try the kelp when I do lawn renovation in fall.

Yeah, I remember the LCN vid with root & kelp. That's why I bought it & gonna spray it on my fescue mid May, early June, then gonna put down the Sta Green Natural 8-0-2 mid June, it has 1.25% humic + 1.25% kelp + 5% iron

If you use a good wetting agent and a plant growth regulator your lawn will not stress out. It will also need the proper amount of water. But you have to put them down early enough before the heat hits.. you should start late April or early May.. check out some videos on what wetting agents do and what plant growth regulators do. Check it out for yourself make your own mind up.. these are both things that golf courses use.

Yep, we’ve tried Hydretain and Fourplay for several years. They do help some, but water being the main ingredient as you said. Thanks Rick.

For the experiment, I think it would be good to add a sample that had urea or a basic fert applied. Comparing a plants development with no nutrients added (water only) versus samples with some nutrition applied is not quite a fair comparison in my opinion. Maybe the results will show if biostimulants are worth it or you just need basic fert and its good enough.

Great point. LCN did that as well, but l believe something happened, but fair point. I have six to play with so a fert only plant would definitely be doable.

Awesome differentiating the two (KBG/Poa), I had some pop up in certain parts of my lawn and I was like ugh I have a yard full of POA ANNUA. Your video just helped me! Thanks for that! I too thought I killed off all of my KBG but apparently there is still some in there. Again Thanks Mr. Ferguson

I think they rebranded the solar green as heat and drought. Solar green looks really good in my back yard that’s not irrigated.

Probably 12 years ago I finally got tired of the grass always dying off along the street berm. I started tilling up about a 3-4 foot strip about 45 feet long and found massive chunks of concrete, large and small rocks, pieces of wood, etc. There was so much of it lined along the berm when Inwas done that it looked like almost a solid mass. I still had issues along that area, but it was improved. I’m hoping with the renovation last fall and use of biostimulants can keep the lawn in better condition in that area through the heat of summer here in south central NC. Thanks for the info and great pic comparing KBG and Poa Annua seed heads. I have been pulling a lot of Poa and was hoping I wasn’t pulling young KBG as well.

You should do a container with milorganite since most people use it when they pregerminate seed

Everyone complains how it has too much phosphorus, so that is a yes. I do know it super sized my tree roots at my old house which messed up my underground sprinkler lines.

Couple questions why do you have to use sand? It seems like it would be more telling in dirt. And the other question why can't you use fescue on the experiment. Thanks
@MrFergusonLawn
@MrFergusonLawn 2 ай бұрын
1. Sand has no nutrients in it, so it will all come from what is applied. 2. I would have to grow fescue, whereas these are already available and will serve the same purpose.

Off the subject what do you think about a granular weed control on top of a spraying on the same day.? I was looking at a lesco 20-0-3 fertilizer plus weed control. Your thoughts please and thanks.

Morning Brother, While doing My Mulch Beds Ive noticed "u guessed it" some Rust too!!!! Just nature of the beast where we are. In your opinion Should I spray the Bio-Advanced before or after I mow / bag? It rained here like 12 hrs sunday ...You prob had the same. Thx

I would do it a day after mowing, if not two days. Let it sit on the blades, water in later if you like.
