It's so good to see someone share the outdoors with their dog. I had 14 years of enjoyment like that with mine. He preferred my wool blankets and quilt to his own bed, though. No fun when he was damp or wet. Nor did he agree that the pile of kindling was for MY use. He'd transfer them piece by piece to "his" preferred spot and lay a foreleg over them. I'd tease them from his "protection" for the fire, and he'd be horrified. What is wrong with you??? Why are you burning sticks??? Laugh a minute. Excellent video, thanks.

thanks so much for the calming beautiful drone shots/music and details about your lovely quality new tent etc...fab vid.....i hve just progressed to a one tigris tarp and wee nice quality wee firebox/grill ..enjoyed some hot dogs and rolls n butter and some pure rain water from the sides of the tarp (thou had it on a slight slope /note to self lol for cooking).....for a wee rainy day camp and my old wproof tarp n coat n fleece to keep warmer.

Sublime location in superb weather conditions, Sam. Keen to hear you say Mhurchais as evidence of your Caledonian authenticity, but I must have missed it. Judging by better-known Gaelic names, I expect there'll have been a v at the start and an -ish at the end, with a violently rolled r and throat-clearing ch in the middle. Was actually waylaid by the absolutely mesmerising drone shots. In fact, you must by now have enough footage to make a self-standing video collage of Highland forests (or lack of them) from the air. Music-enhanced, of course. With the main topographical features captioned. And free of bla-bla-bla! Easy to tell I've never produced anything like this myself, isn't it? The work you put in is very much appreciated and enjoyed, though. As the folk below demonstrate. Well, all except the muttonhead - but you despatch him effectively ...

Very versatile tent luxury camp but in this weather beats huddled into sleeping bag by 5pm 😂I'm new but finding processing wood very relaxing rather than hardwork and the campfire brings out the inner child in us all calming relaxing and tranquil great vid jotted down dog gear to order as gets cramped me and 2 bull terriers in sleeping bag😂

I'm guessing you are referring to Rothiemurchus Estate. I'm not on their ground but as with most private estates they try to discourage people having fires but it shouldn't be a problem if you are following SOAC.

Not all the way or the fire won't have enough air to keep burning but I'll reduce it as much as possible for a slow burn.
