I fear young people may think money is easy to obtain and become discouraged to seek a path of hard work. Unfortunately the world doesn't work that way, although KZbin and social media may make them feel warm and fluffy.. We live in a HIGHLY competitive world, and it gets harder every day as populations grow.

I don't think the software engineer was living his life only for a loved one and his end. I think they were both living for the future and may be living for other things. I think you're being too kind. Adding in the $600 parking tow was highly misleading for this article. They shoot this one day later and it's a boring article and they know it. they're going to have to be more sincere going forward or they risk getting labeled as intentionally misleading their audience for clicks.

1) He only made less money because his car got towed, on a normal day he makes almost double what she does 2) He is unhappy because he's got the shit end of software dev. If he worked for a larger company or even a company of 50-60 he'd get more interaction and group projects, so he'd enjoy his job a lot more. 3)IMO he's in the wrong profession. if he genuinely doesn't like coding, how is he going to do it all day and not go crazy, and how will he teach it to kids without a passion for it at all? He seems confused to me. I get tired of coding after a days work, and I actually enjoy it.

Somebody should start putting comments in their code.
@garthhetablade47056 жыл бұрын
R Age I know people that do this because you can exempt certain lines and write something that the machine ignores (however this makes is take more hardrive space and loads slower when you run said peice of code )
@rayage7776 жыл бұрын
Garth HetaBlade Quinn even said he takes a half an hour to an hour to remember what he was doing. Just put a comment that says "Start here, continue doing" whatever. People forget what they were doing and why they did it all the time, not to mention the next person that is going to modify the code needs to know what you were thinking and doing.
@rayage7776 жыл бұрын
Garth HetaBlade Aftrr reading my reply to you, it might look like I was saying that you are for not commenting.. This was not my intention, I was just saying in general reasons why people should comment their code.
@jonashubotter66866 жыл бұрын
Adding comments to code tells everything about how bad you think your code is. Write good code, and you don't need comments.
@rayage7776 жыл бұрын
Jonas Hübotter It really depends on what type of code you are writing. If you have ever written code with algorithms in it, you have to explain it because it gets so confusing not to mention it makes it way easier to understand. There are usually equations with several calls in it and if somebody comes after you to maintain your code, they will have to find the other calls and understand what's going on in that then come back to the original equation and understand what's going on in there. For example, I wrote code that has a beam of light from a satellite to the Earth. If you are pointing straight down from the satellite to the Earth, code is easy. If the beam is at an angle, now you have to know how much of the beam is on the Earth and off the Earth, shape the beam to the Earth's surface, and decide how far the beam will stop if it's not on the Earth. Now, think if I didn't write comments and a customer said "I don't want a square beam, I want a circle beam" can you re-write the code?

i mean i cant rly say THIS is right cause ofc i am not from SF but i rly think that if u search and take some time to see where most of your money go and adapt , change some things its rly helpful and yes the majority might be expensive shit here and there ...still you can avoid some of them and with a monthly 8k i think thats not that hard....ofc as someone that has no family to support....dunno what he is doing with his parents i am talking about wife and kids that live with him and he needs to take care of ...again i might be completely wrong but i think there is a way i live in brussels and for my standards and the money i have monthly i feel its expensive for me...but by beeing careful and not beeing worried if my house is big/small or a hole i am doing pretty well...totally better than when i first came here.

You need to have this same discussion with a bit older people, with kids, and see what money means to them. Its really easy to not care about money when you have no one depending on you for everything. But once you have a couple kids and your own happiness depends on their happiness, money does indeed buy that happiness. I have a mid 40s friend who also says money doesn't mean that much, but he has no kids. Do an episode with parents, there will be a big difference of opinion.

Very missleading that they make the guy pay 600 over some random BS , but the girl does not get the same, however ignoring the $money$ part of this being a bad comparison, the girl is living a much happier fulfilling life just because of her attitude.

I have split between LA 2014-2016, and SF between 2016-2018, and this representation is grossly simplistic. Yes, there are software engineers in SF. There are also many other high income earners, like in the pharma or medical industries. In LA, there are also many high income earners, like in functions akin to consulting, investment banking, and investment management. Guys, this isn't reality. Both cities cost a lot in nice areas where neighborhoods are clean and safe. So she's not going to survive long-term given how costs are growing in California in general. He has a sustainable career.

"Money is a part of what turns you into who you are." I don't completely agree with that, I believe that pieces of paper do not define who you are but what you get or do with that money can define your characteristics.

Some people are so wound up because he had an early expense and thinks that shouldn't count. Of course it counts. Maybe he only got towed once but maybe it's something that happens a lot because of where he lives. She probably doesn't make $400 day but she did today so it counts, just like his lunch and her Uber. She doesn't have a car so she doesn't have that expense. It counts. Recognize the point of the video is not a race but a day in the life.

@tylerbhumphries6 жыл бұрын
I loved this video and some people are acting so childish in the comment section. This video is supposed to showcase a-day-in-the-life not what their whole year is like. It's just looking at what happened to them on that one day. His car factors into it because it put his daily spending into the negatives (meaning, his spending for that day started off in the negatives because he spent money before he could even make money) and they counted his meals and uber because those were added expenses for that day. This video is in no way implying that the girl makes more money than him annually, it's just looking at that one, specific day. And they probably didn't count her food because she probably ate at home. The only thing that should have been counted (because they counted his uber rides) would have been how much money she spent on gas that day, driving from photoshoot to photoshoot.
@billyBob-dz7jy5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but he didn't pay that expense the day of filming. That would -$250 the day prior, but still a positive $350 the day of. They just wanted to have a good title to bring in views of people expecting a completely different situation. I call that scummy

So he's working from 10am to 4pm (5-6h) an she was shooting for 3h plus some hours in post. They get paid daaamn well for the time they're working! In Switzerland, if you have a normal office job you would work at least 8h earning around 300 bucks a day... And... You know... It's Switzerland, so things tend to be more expensive than everywhere else.
@GansoFlair6 жыл бұрын
The thing with her is that she's not making that type of money on a daily basis. But yeah I was surprised at how much the intern makes. Comparing that to Praktika in Switzerland - the difference is immense.
@haru61656 жыл бұрын
where tf do you guys live in italy u get 60 bucks a day like wtf with 300 a day i would be rich
@JackieGian6 жыл бұрын
Haru well you're not rich with 300 a day in Switzerland. Eating lunch like the programmer would probably cost around 20 bucks. And a flat the size his is would cost at least 2000.- a month. But you're in the good living middle class with 300/day. A Hairdresser for example would only earn a bit more than half of that. I think with only 150 bucks a day it's going to be difficult to afford living in a town like Zurich.
@GansoFlair6 жыл бұрын
You have to consider other living costs too. Pretty much everything is expensive in Switzerland. That's why some people living near the border go shopping in Germany where goods are much cheaper.
