Man this is a great breakdown. I used to hit this back in highschool in 1999 and my coach hated it. Claimed it was sloppy wrestling. Man I wish he could see this!

Been saying this for the last few years, the wrestling world is tuning into EYG. Their tuning in bc most of us don’t have top 5 DI wrestling coaches as a resource. Being close with a few of the best coaches, and in and out of the top HS, DI, and senior level rooms, I speak from experience when I say these breakdowns are at that level. Only the most elite wrestlers are getting this level of coaching. And from a video level, it’s only when these top guys are game planning for a one particular opponent while prepping, states, conference, nattys, worlds, and yes, even the Olympics. We’re all so very blessed to have this resource and if you aren’t listening and hitting the mats to work on this stuff, shame on you. The best guys in the country are hitting these things in competition right after the first Ono vid and have immediately implemented into their offensive attacks. Trust me, they didn’t say, “Ohhh next match I’m trying that move”. Nah, they drilled over and over with hundreds of reps in the rooms so that they’re instinctively able to hit this in competition. Nobody just watches these vids and become better during that 13 minutes. They see these techniques working and every level and in multiple positions. This channel shows you EVERYTHING and validates these moves. He’s setting you up for success but it’s up to you to go implement this stuff on your own. To all of my HS wrestlers out there, if you’re not working extra before and after practices on everything on this channel, shame on you. I can’t stress it enough as there’s no really excuses for it. Don’t blame your coach or anyone else. Just grab your drilling partner and ask if they are “willing to do what it takes to become a state champ”. If they so no, find someone else. I promise on everything that every wrestling team has at least 2 wrestlers that want to be want to be state champions. Grab that person, get on the channel and get to work just like you see these have done. I swear on everything, YOU WILL BECOME A BETTER WRESTLER. But it starts and end with you. If you have the drive, then you already have the resources to make your goals become reality. Get your cardio up and become obsessed with working on these techniques. Gym closed? Cool go out in the yard. No yard? Cool drive to a field. No field within driving distance, I call bullshit and should shift gears to chess, cornhole, or paper, rocks, scissors. This is a physical sport and the most purest when it comes to competition. You’ll never get better by watching alone. But you’ll become a beast by watching, learning, and practicing it. Remember, if you’re not If you’re looking for excuses on why you’re not a state champion, you’ll find them everywhere you go. On the other hand, if you’re looking for reasons on why should be a state champions, you’ll find them everywhere you go. See most of you won’t even read this far on comment. And if you still are, that’s an indicator that you’re looking everywhere for things to help you. If you want to be different, you MUST do different things. If you’ve read this far, know that there’s nothing stopping you from becoming a state champ other than yourself. It’s 100% on you and I believe that you’re well on way. Be different and you’ll get different results. Love and thank you all. #EYG #DayOneGangGang #YoureHereForAReasoson #GetIt #YouDeserveIt

By simultaneously pulling/or snapping the opponent's wrist down and shifting the weight to the opposite side, the attacker can bring the opponent down enough that their armpit rises directly over the opponent's head. This position significantly increases the attacker's chances of reaching the opponent's ankle or the back of the thigh.

@@earnyourgold I appreciate your reply. Ono's is more effective because he's stunning these guys with a fake shot posture and mostly backstep as he's doing it. That's the part that's new to the rest of the world and unique. He's not using the backstep for motion, he's faking with it almost as he's started the move.
