Good job. You might want to put a black background for easier viewing of knot. Thanks for the hack!

You are a life saver, mate. It's taken me years trying to learn this knot. The elastic bands and toothbrushes trick is brilliant

I will pop a Vid up shortly- you can use a downrigger release clip(scotty or cannon seem to be best cheapies don't work) on the elastic band and is makes this knot so easy and quick to tie!

Lmao, my boat just drifted a mile without my spotlock on.

I do something real similar but just make surgeons loop in the braid and place it over the handle then rest is same, however the rubber band trick I see will be so much better as it self adjusts for the most part? Cheers man, best FG idea I have found in a long time subbed, hope you’ll keep at it

The rubber band is good but if you add a Scotty downrigger release clip to the rubber band that is pure magic💪. So fast it feels like you are cheating!

I’ll stick with a locked Albright knot. I’d be curious to see testing on 2-6lb test line to see if the amount of force needed to lock in a FG knot properly renders the line weaker than less extreme knots like the Alberto, Albright, Yucatán knot etc. Wrenching down 10lb + line is a bit different than wrenching down 4lb imo
@Minimissions1012 ай бұрын
4lb is a fickle beast to tie, I used to run a Bimini twist to an Albright but since I’ve got the knack of the FG it is way more consistent. I’ve never tied it in lighter than 4lb though and I have little things I do to not stress the leader tying. I spent a rainy day trying all the braid to leader knots and then tested to breaking, now FG is my go to 😎. Thanks for watching though 💪

Yeah always take toothbrushes fishing🙄why not use your hands
@Minimissions101Ай бұрын
Having shiny pearly whites should always be high priority when you are out fishing, just on the off chance you come across a mermaid 😉 seriously though, I use a knot puller (about $10) but a rubberised toothbrush handle will do the job just fine. You need to use something similar otherwise you will cut yourself on the braid when you tension your knot. Thanks for watching 💪🫡
