Super important with this recipe: do not over cook in the slightest because it will taste like burnt collagen. You must cook low heat, with some oil, and with the lid on in order to cook low and slow. Also I added a bit of vanilla extract to the mixture and that is also very delicious.

I calculated the nutritional info : 647 calories in Bella's batch of pancakes (6 large eggs: 468 - 20 gr unsweetened gelatin: 84 - 25 gr collagen: 95 calories) - of those 74 gr are protein (eggs and all the powders), and carbs are zero. Might be helpful info if you're carnivore and tracking.
@Jock19128 күн бұрын
How do you figure zero fat? It’s cooked in beef tallow and the egg yolks are fat. There’s at least 40grams of fat in this. The 6 eggs alone has 31 grams of fat.

Great Recipe, if you don't feel like flipping them, they can also be made Dutch baby style. Just preheat an 8in. cast iron skillet in the oven at 375F, grease the skillet, pour in all the batter (3-egg recipe), place the skillet back in the oven uncovered, and allow to cook for about 20min. The pancake will deflate after you pull it out, as all dutch babies do, but will still be pretty fluffy on the plate.

I made a double batch of these last night and had some left over for breakfast. They held up well in the fridge. There is a learning curve to cooking them but once you get it they turn out great. I will try to freeze some next so I can batch cook them for a quick breakfast. I do advise using two pans as the cook time is longer than regular pancakes. I can say that I can feel the collagen texture. Not off putting to me but those that do not eat so much meat might notice it. Also tried putting in some sweetener, the protein makes the sweetness less so putting the sweetness on top works best and makes it easier to serve people with different dietary goals. Thanks for the recipe. Its a nice alternative to clean carnivore eating

Ugh, so this'll be a must make. Pankcakes would be the one biggest breakfast item on a camping menu since in carnivore i miss the most. Most of my family coming from Northern Idaho Huckleberry pancakes is a staple thing i always look forward to with our family get togethers/camps that idk if i can do without. I might even try this with just a few huckleberries (although that drops this item into a Keto bracket) just to try this and tge Belgian waffle version of this for myself. Thanks for sharing this!!! No syrup though lol

These are really good if you make them right ! By that I mean, making sure you gently fold the whites into the yolks so that the air built up from whipping them both doesn't disappear.

WEEL DONE BELLA! My wife has cooked almost everything for the past 28 years, but i decided to try Bella's pancake recipe. Amazing!!! With 3 eggs and collagen, i ended up with 4 pancakes. I have a gas stove, so started on the lowest heat, but ended up raising it in order for the first side to turn golden brown before flipping (~10 mins). While it cooked i made the whipping. I was amazed by the consistency of it all! They were exactly like a pancake mix, but more healthy. I've been (partially) doing Keto/Carnivore for a while but need to get serious. I'm really struggling with breaking the sugar and carb addiction. I also cooked up a side of bacon to go with the combo in order to have a full breakfast. Although it wasn't as sweet as normal pancakes with syrup and all of that, it tasted great. I did not use any syrup or honey. I will need to figure out how to sweeten it a little bit, although I don't want to use artificial sweetener. My wife will be able to 'giz it up' as she is an amazing cook. Overall, as a rookie cook, the process took probably an hour and there will be lots to clean up as im a messy cook! Bella, when is your cookbook coming out? 😅

Gradually easing into a (mostly) carnivore diet, thank you so much for your videos! As I finish off non carnivore things that there are carnivore versions for, I plan to make the switch. (Like after I finish my supply of sandwich bread I'll switch to making the flatbread) 💜 I use cast iron because I have sensory issues with stainless steel, but I'm glad you found a healthy option that works for you 🙂
@JKPilot6 ай бұрын
Ok, I tried these this morning, and got a so so result. The taste was great, but the airiness is definitely determined by cooking time, and that is determined by the heat. I think the ingredient quantities are good, but times and heat settings are going to vary widely, depending on individual circumstances (type of cooking appliance, type of pan…etc). I used a stainless steel pan (which do work well when heated correctly, as demonstrated in the video, and it’s what I’ve been doing for years), and I initially went for 8 min at a medium-low temp before flipping, but that was way too hot still. So I turned the heat right down, and ball-parked the time (about 6 min), and got a slightly better result. I think for my situation, the temp has to be right down low, for the full 8 min prior to flipping, to ensure they cook enough to avoid deflating when flipping. I will keep doing it this way though, as they were quite good.

Perfect. Perfect and fantastic. The recipe is great. Stainless steel cookware is great. I used cast iron myself, they were great. However, please, for your own health, remove the plastic spatulas from your kitchen. You can successfully use steel and wooden spatulas and cutlery on stainless steel. Best regards

I am on day 9 of carnivore. I've done carnivore before, but I've only ever made it to one month. And this is the first time I've done it without dairy, so I'm hopeful that my weightloss will UNstall.
@laurahudson82109 күн бұрын
I'm doing (almost) strict BBBE this month for the first time. (I am allowing black coffee and black tea, and some spices). Never have I cut out dairy completely till now. I'm jonesing for some sour cream. It was a staple until Jan 1. But the last 3 months of 2024 saw me put 15 lbs back on b/c I kept cheating on my keto... I knew what I'd feel and did it anyway. Miserable time. I've dropped at least 6 lbs so far this month, but I keep finding myself reacting with full-body inflammation (feel like a water balloon) to something. I've narrowed it down to either: one of the flavored back teas, a particular bacon I was able to buy in bulk, Redmond's Season Salt, or new oxalate dumping. So, I've also cut all those out for the month, and will do my own n=1 experiments starting in Feb. If it turns out to be oxalates, oh well... I've had worse symptoms.
