Jesus is the only way to heaven Being a good person won’t get you there. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. This is really all it takes. Once you figure this move out, you just make adjustments from there. Some guys on youtube make it so complicated. This guy will change alot of peoples life. This is how simple it needs to be.

I am a beginner at golf .....I wanted to learn the basic swing. After watching a bunch of KZbin videos I was like WTF this is just a Rubik's cube of complications. I eventually found a few videos that make it simple like this . A few days at the range and I played my first round of golf . I was useless off the Tee . However my irons and putting was decent and I actually played decent for my first time . I switched to a 4 iron off the Tee and I really enjoyed my round . I hear my friends talking to each other about wrists , knees , feet , coming from outside , inside etc etc . I can't fathom how they even hit the ball thinking about all that stuff .
@TheWedgeWizard
@TheWedgeWizard Жыл бұрын
@@TheRaceface22 I’d suggest mike Malaska if you’re a beginner. he breaks things down very simplistically and is one of the best coaches on the planet. I’d also suggest not getting too caught up in all the online information because there’s not one exact way to swing the club, all different types of swings have won major championships and you can find a lot of contradicting information. Always try to understand “why” we want to make certain moves in the golf swing instead of just blindly copying positions. And of course every player should fully understand “the new laws of ball flight” because a lot of rookies have the physics of the game completely backwards and think they understand but don’t understand what makes the different shot shapes, understanding and practicing the laws of ball flight makes the game way more simple.
@TheWedgeWizard
@TheWedgeWizard Жыл бұрын
@@TheRaceface22 you don’t think about all that stuff while you’re playing. You work on one maybe two things for months until it’s ingrained in your natural swing and then you move onto the next improvement. Golf is the lifelong pursuit of unattainable perfection, you’ll never stop learning and striving for perfection if you truly fall in love with the game.

@@TheWedgeWizard Brilliant replies mate , thanks . I play a LOT of snooker and also used to coach juniors at snooker too . The similarities between snooker and Golf is unbelievable. I could go on all day on how the timing , thought process etc etc is very similar
@TheWedgeWizard
@TheWedgeWizard Жыл бұрын
@@TheRaceface22 nice man, idk much about snooker but I’ve played regular 8 ball or 9 ball pool since I was a kid, I’m not to shabby with cue. Even won 2 years ina row an annual 8-ball tournament when I was 15 &16, other players tried to protest me (unsuccessfully) playing because of my age, that same thing happened when I was 13-18 playing in club championships and other golf tournaments, the old guys didn’t want to loose to a 13 year old 😂 But yea, similarly both games are all about the different spins you want to put on the ball and playing strategically to set up your next shots. A lot of beginners just want to hit driver on every hole but a lot of times closer isn’t better and driver can get you in trouble on many holes. Especially juniors, they love smashing driver lol, I taught a junior golf camp for five or six years and gave lessons to hundreds of adult players back when i played/taught professionally. I’ve had my amateur status back for a while now which is nice because I can play in so many more tournaments and golf isn’t my whole life the way it needs to be to play professionally, not to mention the expenses to travel and play on mini tours isn’t cheap so I’d only get to play in a handful of tournaments a year. Back to being a big fish and a little pond 😂 keep grinding, hit ‘em flush 🤘

I’ve golfed for over 30 years, always inconsistently. My swing was terrible and I felt every time we went out. I always watch just enough KZbin videos before I go out to confuse me and make me question everything always trying some different, hot mess. Well today I tried your technique and holly sh!t it worked. I almost had a hole in one, we’re talking 4 inches, I pared 5 holes and had a birdy, I could feel the difference, it was liberating. I have always know that I just needed a little tweak of some kind and I think this was It , it really worked for me, thank you very much 😊

It’s a great drill, but not one to overdo. I did that drill for a while and got myself to the point where I couldn’t pull the trigger unless my wrist was preset and the club head was hovering a foot off the ground behind the ball. I looked ridiculous, and I wasn’t striking the ball that much better anyway. Took weeks of dedicated practice to work that out and get back to a normal address/takeaway position.

Exactly! Keep the swing focused on muscle and skeleton structure that has consistency and control. That straight arm and wrist hinge from the very beginning controls the swing to only your core and left leg which you can get a feel for a consistent swing quite easily.

I found the Mike Austin method 6 years ago after 42 years of golf. Mike advocates an early wrist cock and Joe Dante in his 1962 book exaggerate the hand/wrist movement further and is the first takeaway move with his EBWB-early backward wrist break. Seems similar or at least related to what you’re doing. For me, EBWB has eliminated all confusion on the backswing to the top.

Love the 80’s butch harmon drill 🤘 I think it’s important to note, when you get to the top ideally your lead arm, back of your hand, the shaft & clubface all square to each other like he has here. A lot beginners tend to get really cupped (extension) in their lead(glove) hand at the top which sets the face wide open. They’d be better off feeling a little bowed (flexion) if not square at the top of the swing. Before someone says it: Some players like Fred couples have a cup wrist at the top but lose the cup and gain the flexion they want on the way down, most beginners with a cupped wrist, stay cupped through the swing which then requires all sorts of manipulations to get the club square at impact and to get the proper shaft lean to compress the ball.

seems great at the top. Only how do you keep from releasing everything at the bottom, instead of through the ball, facing the target?!! I flip it or hit AT the bottom, and all the energy stops at bottom of my swing, regardless! How to fix that??? Can't hit baseball on tee either. Very very frustrating, seeing that I used to hit it great many years ago. Any suggested videos appreciated. Frustrated golfer...
