Man I’m so glad another positive review is added to the conversation around this game!! I hope you did push a few more to buy this gem! This is one of the absolute best indie games to come out for years. I was floored to see so much negativity about it after expecting most indie gamers to feel like I did about it. It was my 2020 game of the year and I consider it one of the absolute top console exclusives. Really want to hear your opinion on Livestream still, keep almost buying it!

Thing is the game is a very strange enigma! I loved it as well but many of the flaws in story, gameplay, and dialogue just proved to not be for everyone. It is a pretty goofy but also vague story based game that heavily pulls from nostalgia. Though, overall, a lot of people loved it!

I absolutely loved this game! I had to import the physical; I didn’t have the patience to wait for western release. Thank you for the positive review. I can understand someone not wanting to read a lot of story in their games…sort of..but I don’t understand all the negative reviews from people that knew it was story heavy beforehand, but then played it and complained about it being too story heavy. 🤔

I feel you with the start of the year on NS is weak (for my taste too) but it's gonna get insane with many releases soon. I want to get Eastward but I am still not sure if it is what I am looking for. I am looking for a niche game after I finished AC Valhalla to reconnect properly with gaming (due to its absence with my mental health issues atm). But after this review, I think it's about time to get into this one. I will take a small look at some more gameplay and decide from there. Excellent review

I'll definitely be importing the physical copy of this from Play Asia, I've been craving an action adventure game along the lines of the overhead Zelda games that is of a higher quality than the norm and this review helped to sell me on it. Everything about it looks great and I can't wait to play it. While I'm getting Eastward from Play Asia, I'll also be picking up the European physical copy of Infernax, which is a sort of Zelda-like game, but more in the style of The Adventure of Link mixed with Simon's Quest, some metroidvania elements, tons of gore, and a choice system that changes how the game plays out. I've been playing the digital version on the Switch and I have trouble putting it down. If the influences sound appealing to you at all, then I strongly recommend this one.

I just sold my copy on eBay after playing 10hrs. I really tried to keep going, but too many dialogs and too many go-there-get-me-that phases. It is a really beautiful game, and I enjoyed some bosses and dungeons, but I was reading more than i was playing.

it's going to bother me if I don't say something, it seems kind of bizarre to complain about John being scruffy when an aspect of his character the game goes to painstaking lengths to describe is that he is dirt poor and Sam is maybe the only thing of value he possesses. It comes off as a backhanded way of saying the character is too hard to relate to because he is poor and left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't watch the full vid bc I've mostly just been trawling for other opinions on the story, but otherwise I mostly agree with you.
