wont be as good as with thighs, but at least the charsui flavor is there and you can use your imagination. the issue is there will be no skin caramelization. if you worry about calories, it means you not working out hard enough or dont know how to manage calories in other areas, just stick with thighs imo 😁

You add "onion powder" twice, but the two powders are of different colour. Is the other powder garlic or ginger? Then: stab as "many 'what' as possible" with the fork? Or do you mean "as 'much/as often' as possible"? Also, the tray of the air fryer has a non-stick coating, so there is no need to waste any aluminium foil "to cut down on cleaning".
@TheCookingIsland
@TheCookingIsland Ай бұрын
Sorry, it’s my typing mistake, the other powder is garlic powder. You can use the fork to poke the meat as often as possible. Lastly, as my experience, although the air-fryer has non-stick coating, it takes me a lot of effort to clean the tray after using without the foil. You can give it a try 😄

@@TheCookingIsland Thanks for the quick reply. Tip: I use soap-free steel wool pads, they work like magic to clean greasy, sticky stuff from surfaces. Yet, they are less aggressive than the green side of regular dish sponges as they don't scratch non-stick coatings. These pads are almost infinitely resusable thus saving miles of aluminium foil.

Omit the brown sugar (the other ingredients are more than sweet enough); omit the salt (plenty in the soy and oyster sauces), omit the 'vegetable' (seed) oil, it is a superfluous poison. These steps will enhance your recipe.

Some people just want to suck all the joy out of everything. All good things in moderation, according to Julia Child. Better to partake sparingly than dilute the indulgent nature of the craft. I've roasted countless batches of char siu / boneless spareribs in a professional kitchen, I can tell you that marinade would be loaded with straight white sugar, not even brown. Honey is applied as a finishing glaze when a serving is heated for that order. You are welcome to cower in a lifetime of ascetism but don't discount other people's appreciation of flavor or ability to lead a well-balanced active lifestyle that allows for sensuous pleasures.

@@alansmithee.01 Just so that you are in no doubt, I cower before no one and am under no illusion. I raised the spectre of excess sugar consumption because it is the singularly the most insidious of all modern addictions and is - in a massive way - the prime driver for the epidemic of gross clinical obesity that infects many countries today, but most spectacularly in The US of A. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4eXeYKInK-gi9E I do not know of any 'Julia Child' but I can tell you that, whoever she is, she is way off track if she still perpetuates the myth of "all good things in moderation". That idiocy was the brainchild of the global corporations who insist that people eat their sugar-laden, ultra-processed crap, three or four times a day, solely for the purpose of making them richer and more powerful. Frank Zappa was on the money when he declared, “Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.” I am a firm believer that the consumption of sugar (as well as seed oils and most types of vegetation) is directly responsible for this planet -the only environment known to support life - having an obscene overpopulation of more than eight billion imbeciles who are getting more stupid by the second. The global corporations know this, that is why they incessantly keep advocating that people continue to buy and eat their 'idiot food' in order to retain that mass stupidity of a gormless population. You continue eating cancer-causing refined sugar and see how quickly your health deteriorates. I'll stick to eating proper nutritious food: meat, fish, eggs, cheese and dairy; the consumption of which is natural for the human species and was responsible for its rise to superiority before all that was curtailed by the modern obsession for eating crap and, resultantly, dying young, enfeebled and weak.

Hi, it's sticky rice, which is very popular in my country, Vietnam; as well as Asian countries :) If you have a chance, give it a try and you'll love it!

There’s no such thing as char siu chicken 😂😂😂. Stop spreading fake culture. Char siu means fork roasted pork

Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😄 Char siu originally comes from Cantonese cuisine, and the word chā sīu 叉烧 literally means “fork roasted". In this recipe, I've taken inspiration from that classic char siu flavor and applied it to chicken. While it may not be traditional, it's still delicious in its own way :) Anw, thanks again for stopping by!

In the video 1/2 tbsp onion powder is repeated twice, one after the other. The second powder should be garlic powder.
