EASY APPLE CINNAMON ROLLS 1 ½ cups warm water 2 tsps instant yeast 2 tbsps sugar 4 cups bread flour 1 tsp salt 3 tbsps instant dry milk 2 tbsp butter, softened 1 tbsp honey 1 tsp cinnamon 2 tsps vanilla 1. Mix ingredients in mixer bowl (level 2 if using KitchenAid mixer) until they come together and form a ball. Knead for 5 minutes. 2. Form dough into a ball and place in oiled bowl, turning the dough to make sure top of dough is oiled. Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. 3. Deflate dough, roll out on board. Brush with softened butter. Top with 2 cups brown sugar, spread out over dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Place fresh sliced apples or canned apples on top of cinnamon sugar mixture. 4. Roll dough up tightly and evenly. Pinch dough to seal. Cut dough into equal pieces. 5. Place in buttered baking dish. Cover with towel, and let rise for 30 minutes. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with softened butter. Top with icing of choice.

Great recipe, thank you. I have a question to the community and experienced bakers. The brown sugar.. Does it matter if light brown or dark brown sugar is used in this recipe? Which is best to use? Thank you in advance for your help. 🙂

Heather, you will probably never see this comment but I found your channel one day not long ago. The "hardest video" popped up and I clicked(I'd never heard of you before). I went against my better judgment because I had a feeling I knew where it was going from reading the description, but I kept watching. I was in my bed bawling hearing your story....It's been a few weeks now and every single day I think of you and your family. I subscribed and have since watched so many of your videos and baked so many things that were extraordinary. I watch the video each time(instead of writing the recipe down) to get you as much ad money as possible, even though it's a tiny tiny gesture. Your food has made it to my table so many times now and my husband and family are so appreciative, too. They are obsessed with the many breads and rolls I've made thanks to you. This will sound strange coming from a stranger, but I feel like it's almost a prayer that I lift up to you and your family every time I bake. Your sweet voice motivates me and it also makes me take a moment, pause and offer up a prayer of gratitude for my own family that could be taken from me in an instant. Your beautiful soul is just so apparent in these videos...I feel like I've come to know you, Matt and your kiddos a bit. Your videos on bread baking are among the most treasured things I watch and I look forward to being with you most days of the week. You've ignited a passion in me and have taught me so much. Baking bread was always a terrifying thing for me but you've made it easy. I have no words to offer you that will make any difference...except to say that you've inspired me to enjoy my kitchen and my family more....esp my husband. I need to treasure him more than I do...Marriage is hard sometimes and I can take him for granted...but your story has helped me to get on a better road. You're such a gift in so many ways!

I'd like to share my first yeast Raspberry rolls. It was a slightly large recipe. I followed to the letter but I only had bread flour. First it climbed up my too small stand mixer. Then it kicked my behind finishing the kneading process. Then it was HUGE after first rise. I cut my thumb cutting through the HUGE roll. They were fabulous. My husband loves them but I'm not making that large of a recipe again. I will make this. I wish I could even half this recipe. Looks yummy.

I live in Michigan also. I have found since I started baking that the cold temperatures and low humidity here really messes with the Rise time of any dough. I usually watch the many available recipes posted and based on prior experience baking bread, I have to alter the recipes. Yours fits me and my family's choice in what works and what doesnt. My wife doesnt really cook but since she works and I am disabled, I have no problem making food. I have always loved cooking( usually on the grill) but after buying a good used Bosch mini mixer, I have been baking a LOT. I havent done any cinnamon rolls. I need to pick up a can of apples( I do not enjoy canning food) I live in Traverscity so yeah. Your baby sounds adorable! I like including my Grandkids In baking. They are learning the art of Christmas cookies. I make 5 or 6 different kinds. Thanks for sharing this receipe. I hope they work out.

Do you have a recipe for the homemade vanilla extract? I love your recipes....THANK YOU!!
@TheKneadyHomesteader8 жыл бұрын
vanilla beans and 100 proof vodka! :D thats it! put it in a sealed bottle and let it sit for a minimum of 6 weeks, in a dark cabinet. give it a shake a couple of times a week. the longer it sits, the stronger and smoother it gets. its incredible! puts store bought to shame. hahaha i add about 6-8 beans in mine. i do not split them! leaving them intact will allow you to reuse those beans a few times when you refill your bottle with vodka. I buy my beans from vanillaproducts.com but i may buy some from the Mennonite store next time I make a trip there. during the holidays you will be able to find vanilla beans more easily.
