Easy! Beautiful Board and Batten Siding on an Off Grid Mountain Cabin

What a way to end 2023! The off grid Spur Cabin exterior is completely finished! We wrap up the year by wrapping up the siding with easy and attractive board and batten.
This isn't the old-fashioned board and batten, I used rough-sawn plywood for the boards, and ironically, fence boards for the battens. Whaaaat?
Not only do I get this stuff on the building, I manage to caulk and stain EVERYTHING on the cabin, in approximately 33-degree weather. I know...it's cutting it close, but it will be just fine!

Howdy….little pointer from a retired contractor….set your saw blade so it just breaks the surface of the board…..if u just happen to slip up, then as little blade as possible will bite ya……..still got all my fingers, but they show a few lessons…love your videos…have a Great New Year

I like the design of your board and batten. As a painter I grew to hate the more common battens on 12" centers even though I charged three times as much to do the job. You can't get a good rhythm going with those.
