Women tend to complicate things, from quilting to choosingf fabric to ocrganizing their sewing room. I have observed this from watching many quilt tutorials ib KZbin. The pattern designers seem to write the instructions in the same manner they developed the design, like the seminole stripping in the second book. She probably pieced the prototype this way, but should have revised the instructions to be simpler. These patterns are like a tutorial to develop your own pattern. Thanks Maureen, for the wonderful tutorials.

Thank you for your year of opinions and advice. Those book diagrams were so complicated, plus the math involved, no I would not of considered to try this. My thought ould be to use grid paper turn it to on point, then count the squares of the background and add the seam allowance. I think you have made it a lot more understandable, the same with last weeks opinion with the three centre quilt. A lot of A-ha moments going on.

I love your videos! Great job on this! I would love to see you go over how to pick fabrics for the Blooming 9 patch quilt in the Traditions with a Twist book. That is still on my bucket list.

that quilt, to me, is one of the hardest to pick fabrics for. Most times they are just too busy for me and I would like a place for my eyes to rest. I did make a version of the quilt with all grunge fabric going in the Roy G Bv order, but it didn't look at all like the pattern in the book. We have Linda here who is so good at color that when I want to make a quilt I ask Linda to help me. If you have a favorite quilt shop I would choose two or three fabrics that I absolutely love and want in the quilt and then ask for help in choosing the rest of the fabrics. We just pull out lots of choices and then go from there. When you make it I would love to see it.
