This wss the recipe my mother prepared every festive season in Kerala and she now has forgotten how she prepared the absolute delicious coconut sweets, nankatis, fruit cake, wines _ wheat, beetroot, grapes, raisin! Sad that we did not care to write down these tried and tested recipes. All is lost when we cannot replicate food that we enjoyed on holidays which our ancestors spent all their days _ cooking. Now it is the store bought culture.

Sure 😊Towards the end of the cooking process when the mixture begins to leave the vessel, drop a small blob of the mixture in a bowl of room temp water. If it hardens in a few secs then you coconut sweet is done.

Myrtle...use the same bowl or cup for measuring coconut and sugar.
