I’ve never crocheted before, and I was able to make this!!! Thank you for the detailed instructions! I bought the supplies listed in this video and followed along!! The only thing I would warn other beginners about is to watch out after the top of the head part, around 5:53 in the video, she flips it inside out to be oriented correctly. I later realized I was making it inside out after getting a bit into the white part. But that was an easy fix after unraveling a couple of rounds!

Personal opinion, I’d rate this like a 7/10. I wish the video wouldn’t speed up as much so I can follow along, but I guess I messed up somewhere cause the number of crochets on my end doesn’t match up to how much she has to crochet. I feel like there could’ve been more explaining too. So for that reason I knocked off 3 points. Buuut I am making progress, just trying to do my own thing I suppose but follow the technique. It is a cute design! I can’t wait to see how mine turns out. I still appreciate the video!

I tried this pattern but the white body became heart shaped/wonky on the right side. Did this happen to anyone else and if so how do I fix it? I’m going to try and add a white stitch on the right to see if it’ll make it look more equal.

@@simply_diabolical2705 hi! I’ve now been crocheting for over a year and still haven’t found a fix for it! 😅 I think it’s just the way stitches fall when crocheting. I did find another pattern where you only do the head in black white the the body changes to grey so I’ve just started to use that

i am confused the first round you do 6 single crochet oke then you do 2 single crochet in ech stich making 12 but then i get confuse because you do 1 single crochet and then you say 6 times single crichet making 18 but you have 12 stitches minus 1 that yiou single crochet is 11 stitches so i am confused

Hello, no she does a single crochet in one stitch and then an increase (2 single crochet in the same stitch) in the next stitch. She repeats that 6 times. That makes it 18.

You may be using a hook that’s too big

@@aremicchi for amigurumi you should go down 1-2 hook sizes from what’s recommended for the yarn you’re using. Working with tighter tension might help prevent the gaps as well

In general, whatever you crochet will be bigger if you use chunkier yarn and a bigger hook size. But you shouldn't use a hook size that is too big because it could lead to your work having holes where the stuffing of your amigurumi could fall out.

She doesn't only do 6 crochet stitches. She does a specific pattern 6 times. She says what the pattern is at the beginning of each round and she also tells you the amount of stitches you should end with. For example, in round 6 she said 4 single crochet then an increase which will cause you to have 36 stitches at the end.

I would not recommend this to beginners. The video goes too fast, so it doesn't tell how to do some specific stitches because 6 too fast. This video is also outdated, and the creator doesn't respond to comments, so overall, you just have to gain some experience before you can do this
