I got the "japanese" style instructions that were so unbelievably confusing for my simpleton brain lmao. Pictures of the parts all separate with various degree numbers pointing to each part and "engrish" directions. This video was invaluae

Really great video and easy to understand, Sugatsune have now a new lid stay that can be installed on hinges and takes less space when closed, the ARN or AILERON stay, this might help you for future furniture with shallow containers

Oh my gosh you do beautiful work!! I just watched the first video ... have been looking for a stay gas strut kind of hinge for my heirloom hope chest lid which is a bit heavier and SLAMS down and won't stay up. Want to use this as a storage coffee table, and adding casters to the bottom as well (maybe you have a video for that as well? Hint!!) ... THIS is what I had hoped for ... Thank you! Am subscribing!!

Awesome. If lid is too heavy you might need 2 struts. There is a weight limit per strut. Info is listed in the instructions. Thanks for watching.
