Not to mention the roofing screws are gasketed. Can"t get much compression on that gasket screwing the peaks. And you essentially create a big steel kite if you don't screw down the valleys.

To keep stuff from sliding on the metal roof and to prevent scratching it with drill or impact driver. I use some grippy toolbox liner, shelf liner will work too but its narrower. I use 2 or 3 while I'm up there, even one at ladder to give me some grip to stand on as I go on and off the roof.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge You didn’t mention it but did you predrill all the roof sheets at once. This is faster and the screw heads will line up perfectly I was also told by a roofer that he placed only 1 screw in a corner of each sheet at first and then wriggles the sheets so they are all square to the roof frame. Thanks from Down Under
@LifeontheMoose3 ай бұрын
Oh I thought it was obvious when I drilled that it was the whole stack. For sure all at once if possible. And yes, the screw/nail in the corner hole is a great tip that I always forget about! 🙏

What I like about the new blue tooth Milwaukees ("bluetooth" references may seem odd for someone as long in the tooth as I, but) is that whatever your desired pressure can be programmed in. If you saw all the DeWalt tools I have you might wonder... I didn't want any confusion with my former employer so I bought DeWalt. I don't work for them anymore so I'm a little pissed I didn't get the Mikwaukees and just keep the receipts...I used those every day at work and now? I miss the benefits of them. I've got like 2 Milwaukee tools, maybe 3. All old. Do love my rotary hamner!
