Looks fabulous! I still remember the first time my sister Judy did Thanksgiving at her house & made the pumpkin pie. The recipe called for cloves. All she had on hand was WHOLE cloves, and the recipe didn't specify "ground cloves"! Yep, we had a tasty pumpkin pie with land mines in it!!! LOL

Talk about memories remind me of my sister doing her first Christmas dinner and her making gravy cause she grab the baking soda instead of corn starch so onto of exploding gravy we had a floating turkey with water to the top of the roaster lol..😂

I’m going to try this. A bit different than the traditional. Funny story or maybe not. After Halloween years ago, a girlfriend’s husband bought tons of pumpkins for a nickel apiece. My girlfriend asked if I would help her make pies. We made dozens totally from scratch. I spent the entire day making crust and filling etc. She never gave me one single pie, not even a taste. I worked so hard. I’ll never forget that.

As a subscriber who has to accommodate guests with dietary needs I will be delighted to try this recipe using sugarfree vanilla pudding, Splenda and no sugar cool whip. I also made your Queso from your wonderful cookbook and because I had to also make a dairy free queso…I used Chao brand nondairy cheese with canned chilis and barista blend oat milk and it was very much appreciated and enjoyed as well. I want every guest to partake in whatever I am serving.

I think it set up quickly because of the instant pudding in it. Sounds delicious to me, but I'm allergic to pumpkin, so I'll substitute sweet potatoes for the pumpkin----I do it all the time and it's delicious. And Cool Whip on top just makes it perfect. Blessings! Have a beautiful Sunday.

I've never heard anyone else say they're allergic to pumpkin. If you don't mind, what are your allergic reactions? When I was a kid, I'd almost immediately throw up if I ate pumpkin pie. I seem to be okay with recipes that have some pumpkin in them, but a pie seems to be too much. Even with that, I have noticed if I eat a lot of something that's pumpkin based, like a pumpkin roll, I'll get a little queasy.

I’m definitely going to try this. My picky eater 7 year old grandson walked in last thanksgiving and said, “mamaw I like pumpkin pie now. I know you do too so we can eat it together. “. He’s always asking me to make one since his mom doesn’t make pies. This would be a good option for me when I know he’s coming. My mom always added some coconut to her pumpkin pies and it added a little sweetness. Thanks for the recipe.
