I have seen many recipes for this, but yours is the only one that looks like bacon in the pan, which is amazing! It's because, in your usual style, your _procedure_ is different. Well done, and thanks for posting : )

Yes! We need more vegan bacon in our lives hahhaha! Love this! And yes the drying and frying of rice makes a huge difference! I also keep seeing faux meat channels burn their vegan bacon because they cook it too high and it's drives me nuts hahahahah! Thank you for pointing this out!

This looks awesome! I do make a delicious starch bacon using starch water from washing flour for seitan. But this would be great when I don't have any starch water handy.

@@EastMeetsKitchen Well, if you can grind your own grain on a stone grinder, you can certainly wash a little flour! LOL. I have been meaning to try my bacon recipe using dried wheat starch from the store. I think it would work but I haven't perfected the recipe yet. Thanks again for the great content! I've been following you for some time now and enjoy all your inspiring videos!

Is the flavor that professional companies like Beyond Meat and Impossible foods uses for their pork flavor too much of a mystery and not practical to try and copy? not sure why all of these fake meat amateur videos are always marinating in things that taste nothing like bacon but rather something you would put on bacon, completely missing the point of making the fake taste. and what is your opinion of the fake pork flavors that Beyond Meat uses? is it too hard to copy?

The secret ingredients are not patented anyone can create them if they know what they are. this is not from high pressure and heat from industrial machines the simple answer is it is a secret. if the secret were available to everyone, nobody would buy beyond meat products they would make them at home for cheaper. that is the truth.
