Yes, this is exactly what I want! I'll add this to my Borg animation and provide credit to yourself for the tutorial

8:20 For some reason, whenever I reroute the Texture Coordinate from Generated to Object, I get something that looks more like regular noise and I lose all control over how the swirls go, like I have no frame of reference for scale and rotation. I did everything per tutorial on 3.2 and 2.8, same results. Anyone any idea what I'm missing?

Even when I use the exact same values it still doesn't look right. It either looks like a huge pile of noise that didn't stretch out, or rings down the tube that don't curve. This is also my second attempt and the first didn't work either

I'm stumped. I set up my texture exactly as you did but I'm not getting the rotation. It still looks like it's just a linear stretch. I'm hoping you can give me some advice oh how I can fix it.

I feel like since someone made a procedural hyperspace shader for free on blender, this tutorial didn't get as much love because ppl are just lazy. But I prefer this one over the free shader because this one gives you a lot more control of color etc.

Can you make a video where you show how you imported that LEGO X-Wing?
@3DBanditTutorials3 жыл бұрын
In every virtual builder you can export your build as fbx, obj, or something similar which you can import into blender

Hey man, not sure if you’re still looking at these comments or not, but I got stuck at the part where you hit CTRL Shift Click. Currently doing this on my laptop and that shortcut doesn’t seem to work. Everything is just staying red. Edit: never mind I think I figured it out 👍👍👍

Dude, just upload weekly quality content like this. And see how your following explodes.

Yeah, that's all there is really. Upload frequently and the channel grows. Look at Pewdiepie, and where daily uploads took him. And he doesn't have a fraction of this channel's value

I'm not getting any rotation on the X axis, it just appears to multiply infinite more linear stretch like your other commenter said. What are we doing wrong? UPDATE: Fixed it!

@@APXSTUDIO I was just about to ask the same question again, in hopes someone would answer this time, when I stumbled upon the solution (I think). I isn't absolutely perfect yet BUT: I - as I would think you might've done too - skipped the step where he ctrl-shift-clicks the Gradient texture to preview it. As I tried that I realised that unlike his example, my gradient texture was not starting on one end of the tunnel but rather one side, so it seems to be rotated wrong. I solved that by adding a Texture coordinate and a Mapping node to the Gradient texture node. I then rotated it via the Mapping node 90° in the z-axis. I also had to put the x-axis scale to ~ -50. If this doesn't work try rotating and scaling other axes. I will fine tune my values but it generally seems to work now. TL;DR: Gradient texture is probably rotated wrong. Add Texture coordinate and mapping node to the Gradient texture, rotate z 90° and scale x -50, try other axes/values if it doesn't work initially.
@johngrayson1441 Жыл бұрын
Can confirm this works! Texture coordinate and mapping nodes allowed my gradient texture to match his. The problem came from the scene being aligned on a different axis, so this corrected it. @@joelf1

Probably shouting into the empty void here, but I'm a Blender noob and would like to know why this only works in Eevee and Cycles but not the basic workbench renderer.
@3DBanditTutorials3 жыл бұрын
Cause the basic workbench renderer isn't meant to do this so why implement the feature? :D
