I LOVE Crocheting with yarn that changes colors! The color pattern changes depending on the stitches you use so each piece is unique even if you use the same yarn.

Great make over! The bravest thing I ever did to a pair of sandals was cut the strap that came across the top of my foot because it was uncomfortable. After that, I wore them until they died. :) Thanks for sharing.

This is an amazing idea! Especially since clear sandals are the work of Satan 👹. I had a pair of sandals like this when I was kid in the 70’s. We also did this with flip flops back then. (I was 8 so they weren’t that awesome 😆) You can do macramé knots, or add beads. Also for the buckle holes you can use a needle threader. When you get to the hole put the threader in and pull through. Take the yarn under and pull through with threader. (If your feet swell you adjust your sandals a lot 😎) I have just the pair of shoes to work on!!

Genius !!! I kind I did with a strap shoes long time ago, the plastic was hurting my feet, so wrapped around ribbon with macrame style, were "innovated" and Comfortable. Have an Awesome weekend

I think, that would be a good idea - especially, if you plan to wear them to a park or on otherwise dusty paths. The colors would soon look really dull otherwise.

@@penelopefp A little bit - but these type of straps are pretty stiff anyway. And Modge Podge or such is flexible enough, that there shouldn't be cracking. Biggest drawback (imo) would be, that you couldn't quickly and easily replace the design. It would be at least partly glued down to the straps. Maybe soaking or spraying the strings with an impregnating liquid, would be a better solution. Or you could use masking tape on the straps first and wrap the strings around that. That way, there would be a barrier between glue and strap.

I bet a chunky soft yarn would be heaven! Should the straps be too tight for someone a warm blow dryer works wonders to stretch it out. Work little by little, because once it’s loose there’s no coming back unless you use MORE yarn. 😉
