Had a math teacher in high school who was friends with a mom who had two Varsity athlete’s who played 1. Football 2. Wresting 3. Baseball Plus lifted weights at the local gym and she always fed them half a pound of bacon per day six to fifteen eggs with one or two sticks of butter and plenty of red meat. They were jacked and shredded beyond belief and each got division one athletic scholarships partially because of it.

This was hardly a 'rant' at all, but actually the diametrically opposite. The clear rational approach to issues like nutrient density and practicality are genuinely intelligent approaches as to how one can eat most efficiently. The simple logic of his delivery comes fortified with an easily understood anecdotal narrative. His demeanor reflects a confidence in his advice as being well thought out and supportable scientifically. A nice departure from the overly-complicated regimens that are usually pushing some product in the mix. This guy's approach is refreshingly candid and honest with no 'sell' in the delivery. Well Done! Mike Kirwan - Kenmore, WA

Chloresterol is a necessity for life and without one can forget having any kind of optimal hormone level.

98lbs as a sophomore and 106 as a junior and 110 as a senior. That is amazing and hard to believe. WOW. I was a skinny dude as well but i did play varsity football at 155 as a sophomore. Then quit my junior year and moved in with Grandma and grandpa at 17 in 1986 and my uncle was a wrestler in Sumter , SC. Between my grandma's cooking from granddad's garden & animals and my uncles workouts I gained up to 188lbs solid and benching 350 and full squatting 450. All in about a years time turning 18 in 1988 in that house. Moved back to hometown Florence , SC in 1989 and Managed Living well Fitness center until they filed bankruptcy nationwide. Wished i would have stayed in the gym business somehow. Stan is a very inspiring guy and has done his research for sure. Me being basically the same age as Stan I'm really enjoying his talks. Man is dead on the money with everything he is saying. The only main thing I have done different since about 2001 though is cut out all milk products from some research I did back then stating that our bodies can't break down cow's milk successfully and when something can't be broken down like that it goes directly into the blood without being broken down and cause allergic reactions which causes tiny cuts inside the artery walls and then of course your body goes to work to cover & repair those tiny incisions with components in the blood and if continually happening over a long period of time causes blocked arteries. Now raw whole non processed milk on the farm might be a whole different story. Either way Stan is the man and has learned from the same guys I looked up to as a kid and teen and has done things I can only dream of.

I use to eat a diet that was basically Pork chops, whole milk, eggs, banana, oats and white potato, spinach, cabbage and broccoli all mashed together, i did this for 1 and a half years of training minus the ice cream that i am about to mention, i only ate ice cream before bed every night for about 8months. I would eat 5 times a day and have 5 pork chops a day, drink 2liters of whole milk a day, eat 15 eggs a day, 4 bananas a day, 150g of oats a day and about 600g of mash potato and veg every day. All in all it worked out as about 1000-1200kcal each meal and i would eat a tub of ice cream most nights before i went to bed working out to 2000kcal, so i was having anywhere from 5000-7800kcal a day depending on if i ate ice cream or not. I got to 19stone and 4lbs, for you Americans thats 270lbs at about 30-34% body fat, i was natural as well "And still am" Though i got big and yes i was strong i did start to feel the affects of eating a diet like this, i would ache a lot in my knees and shoulders and elbows, I would sweat just going to the gym and during my warm up i would be sweating as if i was doing my working sets, If i ate carbs before working out i would like like shit, i would feel fatigued sometimes in the gym for no reason, my testosterone levels must of gone down because basically my sex life went to shit. I eventually didn't like the size i became so i decided to lose weight, i stooped eating pork and switched to chicken, obviously didn't have ice cream any more, took oats out, changed my milk to skimmed and suddenly all the problems went, i lost weight, i got stronger, didn't feel so bad any more but still sometimes eating carbs before working out affected me, one problem i didn't mention above still remained though witch was basically after working out my vest or shirt would be drenched in sweat, this sweat basically ended up smelling like ammonia and for those who don't know what that smells like it basically smells like piss. I did two cuts just to clarify, i dropped stuff out my diet and dropped to 18stone3lb and then dropped it again and dropped to 17stone5lbs. I got mega paranoid about it thinking its not a good thing and will i get cancer or some shit, so about 4 months ago now i decided to go vegan ........ i know this prob will come across as a ploy to get people to go vegan but i don't give a shit about anyone and what they wana do, basically my diet is all vegan, every meal i eat for the gym every day is vegan, i eat meat as a treat and ever since i have done this all my problems have disappeared, i feel loads better and i am still getting stronger and bigger and i have lost no strength. Now all i eat is Seeds, Nuts, Kale, Spinach, Rice, Mixed berries and currants, Bananas, oats, Soy milk and a Vegan protein shake witch proteins are from Hemp seeds, Peas and brown rice, i supplement creatine and that's it. I get about 3400kcal a day on a vegan diet, maybe 4000kcal if i cheat witch is quite often and atm i am 18stone3lbs "255lbs" so only a stone off what i was before and i have none of the problems i had before. Personally i think that size and strength has direct coloration with Kcal eaten, as long as you are eating a good diet with healthy food and high Kcal you will put size on and gain strength.

This is golden information. I am in this phase RIGHT NOW. I just gained a bunch of weight and lost my newly gained six pack and am now considering basically cutting for the rest of the summer for the abs and then after that just eat in surplus basically all winter.

Additionally: How do you feel about eating something like lean turkey + avocado (assuming the macronutrients match up to a piece of red meat)
@Denveragentmike8 жыл бұрын
He talked about these kind of fats as being okay but it's not only about the calories. The red fatty animal protein has cholesterol iron creatine etc that helps with growth. The cholesterol is essential for testosterone production in athletes
@kevingundersen38758 жыл бұрын
Yea I understand that but at some point if you are eating 8 times a day, you would think making at least half of those meals from monounsaturated fats would be beneficial to health. 4 servings of steak in a day should be enough for creatine, cholesterol, saturated fat intake
@Denveragentmike8 жыл бұрын
Yea so if you are getting enough steak or fatty meats in your diet than eating things like advocating and turkey is good. I agree it is good to have healthy variety. As long as you are not eating only lean meats with avocado or olive oil when trying to bulk up. However if you are still struggling to gain weight it is good to opt for the farm foods he talks about. But who can't gain weight on meals eight meals with 4 being steak?

Ask science not some hobo who doesnt know shit. Healthy: 7-8 hours daily. Studies (Ill link you some if you want) show, that people who get less AND more sleep than 7-8 hours die of younger age, with people sleeping longer hours long-term, die quicker than those who are deprived of sleep!

I didn't say don't ever advertise....but seriously he advertises ALL THE TIME. It shows that they are out for money instead of the fitness and health of the community.

+TotsAndTattors he doesn't need to make these 20minute informative videos for money. Mark doesn't need to put out all this free content for money. Just appreciate the fact that you're getting all this information for free you ingrate.

Read my comment more carefully. I wasn't complaining about a simple 1 minute ad. If it were a single 1 minute ad, I have no problem with it. The problem here is that every chance they get they are advertising their stuff. Maybe advertise like every 4-5 videos or something. Stop drowning the public in advertising...this aint Home Shopping Network. So make sure you actually read someones comment and understand it before posting a silly response.

8:00 Yep down here in Tennessee a good meal consists of cornbread, Catfish, hamburger steak with gravy, Green beans, broccoli with cheese, Sausage eggs and bacon, and the classic biscuits and gravy with a nice glass of milk to wash it all down. High calorie/ carb and protein. That and mama always said in order to be smart you need 7 hours of sleep. Also about the milk look up the PDCAAS score of milk, eggs, beef, potatoes. Also look into the more modern version DIAAS

When I lost half a lung I got out of the hospital at 127 pounds, at 6'1" tall. I made it my goal to eat well, and when I was on disability I had EBT/food stamps while recovering. I ate plenty of rice, ground beef, and other red meats, along with chicken breasts and pork chops. In 6 months I'd met my doctor's recommended bf% (15-20 percent) and got myself up to about 185. When my buddy who was a bit younger at the time asked how I gained weight I told him to eat well, he said he eats plenty. You can't tell someone who thinks they eat plenty that they've gotta eat more, and better. Dude weighed 130 at 6'1" tall, and only drank energy drinks and shitty microwave meals.

In review... thing's were hard but people are strong we beat the odds because we were strong now let me tell you how hard things were... Come on man, every one struggles in their own way through life. You got rich by being at the right place at the right time and capitalizing on your hard work and tenacity in the booming real-estate market. Your rise in bodybuilding and powerlifting confirmed a genetic potential in you that is very rare. Undoubtedly your hard work and dedication allowed you to progress as far as you have but please don't tell me you have any special insight in negotiating your way through this life. Being as influential as you are to young males I find it deeply troubling that you would give unethical nutritional advice that has been proven to statistically decrease the populations health and well-being.
@mikkeljrgensen1818 жыл бұрын
Except it hasn't been proven lol. You also seem to forgot he got rich by starting a network service and engineering company from scratch, so it's not just real estate luck. Also killing animals isn't any more unethical than animals killing other animals. It's the way of nature and anyone who wants to be healthy and/or successful in any physical endeavor, should probably be consuming large quantities of meat. Also let me mention again, what you just said is wrong.

Seriously, fuck off about the drugs. The dude is a professional businessman and is not going to discuss in detail something that is ILLEGAL where he lives. Any fool can clearly tell this guy is on drugs. That doesn't take anything away from his knowledge for training athletes. He's not a nutritionist and he doesn't claim to be, but he damn well knows how to train young athletes and he knows what they need to eat to grow. The dude took drugs because he wanted to attain what isn't attainable naturally. Why the fuck do you people care and why does it matter if he doesn't talk about it. How does it affect you and how does it influence his knowledge in general??? I'll wait...
