Ive always been a fan of French toast over pancakes. Much more filling. Belt squats are great, wish more gyms had them. This is the entire premise behind my cookbooks. Being able to eat more food that still taste great and allows you to be full preventing you from binging and eating too many calories. The real lesson of the video comes from his sister who wasn’t satisfied with either meals. 1. The “healthy” food portions are larger than she wants. 2. @cool289902 жыл бұрын
Not all calories are same?
@xIronwafflexx2 жыл бұрын
@@cool28990 a calorie is a measurement of energy. So yes all calories are the same. With that in mind, calories out can be affected by the thermic effect of the type of energy, or calories you consume. It takes more energy to breakdown 1g of protein than it does to breakdown 1g of a refined carbohydrate. So essentially, your body will burn more calories digesting a protein than it would digesting a carb. A protein takes up to 25% more energy to digest. Both protein and carbs have 4 calories per gram. Say you eat 2000 calories a day and it's all protein. Btw, don't do that. You are missing out on important micro and macro nutrients. But say you did. If you consider it takes 25% more energy to digest protein, you would net, 1500 calories and be in a 500 calorie deficit, in the best case scenario. Moral of the story, all calories are the same on the calories in portion of the equation.

When I started working out, my two main mistakes were lack of sleep and not eating enough (not being in a caloric surplus). I always thought I was eating enough and was disappointed because my weight stagnated. Then I got my first diet plan created (I think it was from Dietarize iirc). I realised that my previous food intake was way below my needs, although I thought I'm good. At the beginning it was hard to eat 3000 kcal in a day, but I got used to it. I started noticing real gains and it felt amazing. I wish I'd understood the importance of diet earlier.

Thank you for this! I just spent the last 7 months on a successful diet and as I'm now experimenting with some things, I've strayed from the foods that are less calorie dense and higher on GI scale, and I've noticed difficulty with hunger on those days. But everywhere I look, it is being parroted that ally hat counts is CICO, and I'm just not finding it true... So what I've surmised is, calories determines your weight, macros determines your shape and food choice determines the ease or difficulty of staying on track...
@rebel4466 Жыл бұрын
CICO counts always. The right foods for you just determine how hard it is. Insulin hits different for all of us. Some can go without fat, others can go without carbs, some do better when mixing.

I love the video! The lottery of not knowing what meal you'll be eating makes it fit into a realistic situation of adding cheat meals into your routine / dining out with friends If I could change one thing, I think it'd make the results more interesting if only one person ate the healthy meals all day to see how satiated each of you are after a whole day of meals and exercise. Hoping it would encourage people more to add healthy meals when they're at home and have the unhealthy option when dining out with friends/family

To expand on the usage of greek yogurt and powdered peanut butter, mix a serving of PB powder in with one of those little 150g cups of flavored light greek yogurt and use that as a dip or a base for frozen berries and fruit. There's so many different combos out there and all of them I've tried so far have been good, and they get even better with little chunks of your favorite protein bar added in.

Are there any tips you can share for healthy "on the go" eating? Especially when you have no time to cook at home during this holiday season. Your videos are always a watch to keep me reminded, don't overindulge regularly.

Similar principles can help! Fruit, veg and whole grains will keep you fuller longer. If you're on the go, salads w/dressing on the side, grain bowls, smoothies, grilled chicken sandwiches over crispy and limiting red meats can help you make the best choices. Stuff like chipotle and qdoba can be healthy if you pick smart toppings (occasional guac and queso or a smaller amount can help, ordering as usual but eating half now and half later can help). If you don't have time for full meals there are quick dishes like overnight oats in Tupperware (1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup fruits, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/2 cup unsweetened plant milk), chicken stir fry (chicken cut into bites, bag of frozen veggies, precooked rice and stir fry sauce), "pizza" (personal pizza on a pita bread or tortilla with usual fixings), and even a smoothie (frozen fruit, protein powder, soft greens, unsweetened plant milk) are fast like 5-10 minutes and can be a healthier choice. Meal prepping soup and having whole grain bread during this cold time is also comforting and can be fast. Cooking can totally seem impossible when it's a complicated recipe or you're cooking for a lot of people but it's worth getting some basics down because it'll be cheaper and healthier than the latter options for sure. But still, I hope I helped with some tips for eating out!

I love the sous vide egg white bites at Starbucks! Note they still have fat from cottage cheese and some other cheese if I recall correctly, but they're very satisfying with a large cold brew and can substitute for another option or keep me on the straight and narrow until I'm home
