It's not that impressive, you just eat big meals. I might have had to bring some of Aya's bowl home in a doggie bag, but Chris' bowl I'd have finished easily. Mind you, I live in Canada, which is home to the world's 2nd largest morbidly obese primates (the first is America, obviously). I'm impressed that she doesn't look overweight.

How did Aya eat so much? The secret lies in routine training and drinking liquids to expand the stomach. First off, you can expand the stomach by repeatedly eating larger portions, kinda like conditioning oneself to anything, you start at a manageable level and go up. Second, you drink a lot of liquids which help the stomach expand. It makes the food go down easier and applies a different force on the stomach/intestines than solid food. Seriously, if you don't believe me, watch those competitive eating contest, like the hotdog one. They have a ton of drink cups for a reason. How did I learn this? Well, I used to eat a lot and drink water and I found that it helped me eat more. Stomachs are very stretchy, although it takes practice to reach the level that Aya has reached. Your stomach is like a muscle that you rarely need to use (stretch) to maximum ability whereas she trains hers regularly and keeps increasing her maximum.

I actually watched a documentary on Yuka Kinoshita where they took an MRI scan of her stomach before and after a huge meal. It turned out that her stomach stretches out so much that it basically covers her entire abdominal cavity and is approximately 50 times bigger than that of a normal human being. In addition her high metabolism is also a huge phenomenon. So I bet those two competitive eaters are similar in that aspect. I recommend searching KZbin for that one ;)

Yeah this is probably the same case as Venus Angelic. She naturally has a big stomach. Her natural stomach before food is so big and deep it goes all the way down to her pelvis. That's what I thought, always looking for natural caffeine cuz I try to vary my intake so it's still effective and enjoyable. When it comes to working on something long term I'll schedule a secondary task like watching some stand up comedy while half heartedly poking at a project then pick a goal you want to be at before you watch another one. well if aya is anything like yuka, then her stomach expands way larger than a normal person. When it gets large it pushes up into her lung allowing her to eat way more than normal, she also absorbs fat from her brown fat cells faster than normal person so she can burn it quicky as well. All this togther means she doesnt fill full when she eats a lot. There was a science progame on yuka where they ran loads of tests lol. Im sure aya must have something like that as well, or there be no way she could eat all that and still be soo tiny lol.

Hi Chris, finally fried chicken! I think I figured out Ryotaro’s cunning plan. He is following the plot of the anime/manga Yowamushi pedal. He got you an inefficient heavy bike so you can build up strength and stamina. Aya’s ability to eat that much food is most likely due to having a stomach full of acid which is at the PH level of the acid belonging to the Xenomorph from the 1979 classic film: “Alien”. That or she has some sort of third stomach...

You might not be far off there, my cousin would produce excessive amounts of stomach acid, so would have to eat a lot more than most people just to stop his stomach digesting itself, he would eat about 5 big macs in one sitting and stay really thin! They never figured out what caused it, but over time it stopped being an issue and now he can only eat like a regular person! Maybe she has something similar!

Those are cases of extreme metabolism but it will eventually die down. But to be real, it's not on the level of acidity with the sci-fi "aliens" as it would be too deadly and extreme as it melts titanium like paper. Too much TV for you mate!

10:29 Apples - green or otherwise - do not contain any caffeine. This is a myth. A large apple does however, contain a relatively large amount of fructose (sugar). Fructose is digested quickly which raises blood sugar levels and gives the body, more or less, a sugar rush, which has the same biological effects as caffeine. Still, even though a single large apple has the sugar of half a bottle of coke, apples are also high in Vitamin A and Potassium, making them a healthy viable food choice for when you want to stay awake.

I have your answer Chris! A japanese show did a cat scan on another tiny 'Mukbanger' after eating crazy amounts of food. They have genetics that allow their stomach to stretch to up to 10x the resting size, and the drug that the body produces that makes us feel full doesn't work properly in them either. So they don't feel it, except for the weight they add to their abdomen!

Also some people just have a faster digestive system. Yeah our stomach's is around the size of a fist, but we have dozens of meters of intestines ready to store all the food-poop we want. Hence the jumping: it's not as much to move around stuff, as it is to funnel it down as fast as possible.

Explanation for the ability to eat proportionally larger amounts of food: Most likely genetic inheritance/mutation - upregulation of one or several of the genes involved in digestive enzyme synthesis, transport and/or secretion. That would explain her being able to digest the food rapidly, and have a faster time to empty her stomach to her intestines. Additionally producing more amylase (digestive enzyme) in her saliva (digests a bit of the food faster even before she's swallowed). Stronger oesophagus peristalsis (movement your throat does to swallow). The jumping up and down could help with churning the food (something your stomach naturally does, she may be trying to speed up the process). Also stomach training - it's possible to stretch your stomach over time to hold a larger volume, by eating progressively larger meals. Though from a biomedical standpoint, I'm strongly against this.

I hope Chris sees your answer it is the most thorough i've seen so far, it deserves more upvotes :) I would add that the stomach training might also have more global impacts than just physical stretching. For example a downregulation of the hormonal system of sasiety (as it was mentionned in other comments). I couldn't find a lot of actual research on this but I agree it must be quite harmful to her body...

That's an awful amount of chance to be able to do this. I don't think Amylase has anything to do with it, she doesn't chew for long enough for it to have any actual effect. I would guess she also lacks the signals that would normally tell you to stop eating, either by birth or by training. It is also possible, as you said, to train the stomach to hold an incredible amount of food

The stomach alone can't possibly stomach it all. I think another factor is the accelerated transportation of food from the stomach to the small intestine. According to Wikipedia, the average stomach holds 1 Liter and takes at least 40 minutes to process food.
