As a biology student i’ve had to dissect a few starfish and from what i can tell the white grains are probably the ampullae which are part of the water vascular system. Ampulla expand and contract to control the movement of tube feet. And the “intestine-like stuff” is likely the pyloric cecum and pyloric ducts which are essentially digestive glands that fill the starfish and are connected to the pyloric stomach :)

Wait I don’t understand. Could u speak lowercase English
@sowndharya6780
@sowndharya6780 3 жыл бұрын
@Miranda Kim what she meant is...starfishes have a single pathway in their body for all purposes..like for eating,excretion,breathing,and moving(transportation). And this pathway is controlled by the movement of water..so it is called water vascular system. And the "ampullae" she said..that is the white grain stuff is part of this system...it helps to move the water from outside to inside the body and by this the star fish can move from one place to another(it's just a mechanism) Sorry if u don't understand.I just tried to explain it short and simple.
@sowndharya6780
@sowndharya6780 3 жыл бұрын
@Miranda Kim and also the intestine like thing is a part of the digestive system of the starfish and it was actually oozing out from its mouth in this video😅(ik.. it's gross)

In China and Japan, there is a culture of eating starfish in very few areas. Perhaps because they belong to the same echinoderm, starfish taste similar to sea urchins. (In Japan, there is a culture of sea urchin eating, and I often eat them.) However, because starfish may contain heavy metals such as cadmium, they are not sold in restaurants or supermarkets in Japan, where food safety standards are very strict.

Now I want to see him do a short April Fool's Day joke video of himself lying in his diving gear on that big cutting board, wiggling a little and looking annoyed, while he does a voice-over talking about how hard it is to find a wild Masaru, telling us that we shouldn't freak out about the movement because Masarus can survive quite a long time out of the water and other "biology facts", then mentioning he's not sure how it's going to taste or what the best way is to cook it. And at the end of the video, he just gets up from the board and walks out of the shot. :D

This one was… adorable to you? The fish wasn’t edible. No reason to kill it and gut it and play with its organs, then realize, as we knew all along, he couldn’t eat more than the grainy parts of its tentacles. I’m a meat eater but only when it’s done ethically. This was straight awful. What if someone filmed for millions of onlookers as he boiled you and marveled at your organs popping out? Adorable still?
