The embroidery on the French purse isn't crewel. Crewel is wool yarns traditionally done on a canvas. Whet you have is Tambour embroidery which is a lock stitch.

Thank you for that explanation! I didn’t understand the difference but that makes sense now that I looked up tambour embroidery. I’m pinning your comment so people can learn the difference

Thanks George! Wonderful things to sell. That wimpy book had me howling with laughter. Back in the day I had something similar with Charlie Brown, Lucy and the gang! You can only imagine George! Are you imagining? Lol it was terrible but absolutely hysterical at the same time! Oh my!

Your Sato vase has cherry blossoms, not dogwood. Cherry, apple, pear, rose, blackberry, raspberry are all in the rosacea family and have 5 petal blossoms. Dogwood is in the cornus family and has a 4 petal count.
@TheAntiqueNomad3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Daniel! Absolutely right. I even said, "Oh, that's apple blossom" when I picked it and then proceeded to call it dogwood anyhow. I went out and looked at both in my back yard for a refresher lol

The Victorian garments! I have little yellowed notes safety pinned to my great grandmothers pieces. The notes add so much! I begged my mother to let me clean her silver tea set....48 shop rags later I started to accept patina 😑. The Santos figure ! Thank you George for the lesson . You are appreciated!♥️🐩

My beef with ebay is this: I type in "watercolor landscapes" and photos with levels of nudity I don't wish to see are mixed in. To me, that is aggravating.
@TheAntiqueNomad2 жыл бұрын
Yes, and yet they got rid of the adult area where the prurient items could only be seen by those who wanted to do so. eBay is a mixed-up, muddled-up world
