I saw Collateral three times at the cinema back in 2004, it's superb. Collateral was one of the very first films to be shot digitally on the Sony CineAlta HDW-F900 and the Thomson VIPER FilmStream Camera along with Zeiss DigiPrime Lenses. 1:08 is one of my favorite scenes of all time, Tom Cruise being the anti-hero really made the film for me and some of his dialogue is unforgettable.

Do you have Ebert & Roper's reviews of The Manchurian Candidate starring Denzel Washington or The Bourne Supremacy from summer of 2004?

@@michaelperkowski641 No I can't find those reviews, the latter ones are more rare for some reason. I did find this though kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4fOpmhqqJWSZ9U

Collateral is excellent thriller by filmmaker Michael Mann. Tom Cruise fires up the screen in a outstanding role here as vincent a contract killer. Jamie Foxx is powerful and subtlety role in a fantastic performance as Max the cab driver. I also enjoyed the performance's by Jada Pinkett Smith and Mark Ruffalo and the rest of the supporting cast. Michael Mann does a dazzling job directing the style of Los Angeles at night. Mann knows this city like the back of his hand. Dialogue is superb. I enjoyed the conversations between Cruise and Foxx. Also Jada and Foxx in the cab. The story with Mann directing is a pure adrenaline rush of a movie. The music score is terrific and so are the songs for this film. One of the best films that summer of 2004.

Who would've thought Tom Cruise could play the villain so well?

I remember when I went to see this. I also have the DVD 📀. Jamie Foxx deservedly earned an Oscar nomination for this (I'm glad he won Best Actor for Ray, and I went to see that and have DVD of that) I also tripped out at Tom Criuse's villainous performance . This is a riveting film, and a new classic.

Ebert's comments did not age well.

He gave the film a thumbs up and said Jamie elevated to where he could carry a picture as the main lead like he did in Ray and Django. 🤷🏻♂️ Doesn’t seem like a miss to me.
