man when i was going through months of constant anxiety and fear about the future, this man's book saved my life. My anxiety had gotten so bad i was having nonstop chest pains for a whole week. I refer to the book and make sure i practice what the book preaches and i am always able to re-center myself. Alongside with other habits such as journaling every night, writing down what im grateful for, mindful meditation, box breathing, exercise, putting my thoughts into voice recordings and letting them go, observing my mind from a 3rd person, doing things such as studying without music just allowing myself to be fully in the present, and being fully aware of every action i take in the present . Surrender to what "is" and say "yes" to life.

I love how this guy takes all the time he needs, to formulate his sentences. He doesn't care of that short period of pause, that most people consider "awkward". This can at least for me, be quite hard, but I admire it

I agree completely with what Eckhart talks about in this video, and in his book. I have recently got out of a two-year relationship, and the suffering that this break-up has made me feel is the catalyst of my personal change and improvement. I was deriving my sense of self from my relationship, and when I lost it, I felt like I was dying. But when I realized I wasn't dead, I naturally reached a higher level of consciousness. The events that happen to us are objectively never positive nor negative, they simply are. Try to get the most ouf of every situation, because it can teach you a lot. I thank you, Eckhart Tolle.

I'm deeply grateful for Eckhart's teachings. The audio-book version of "The Power of Now" is the best book ever in my opinion. I've listened to it countless times over the past several years. Being able to close my eyes and just listen allows me to practice being present in a relaxed way while taking in the wisdom. By the way, I just pulled up the wikipedia page on Eckhart to check on his birthdate. He will be turning 70 years old on February 16th. Happy Birthday Eckhart Tolle!!!

Feel like I'm on the way towards being free from the grip of the mind. This feels Awesome, in the true sense of the word. I often fall back in a sort of Zombie-like state of mind though, being trapped in either anxiety for others or myself, all based in fear.. But I now, thanks to Eckhart, have a flashlight that I can use to light up the darkness that fear brings with..a flashlight that has a base not in the fragile mind but in something greater and more profound, in the pure sense of life and love itself... and this has, after trying to live in the present moment, not only giving me a source of true happiness but also seems to have a sort of calming and good affect on my parents, siblings and friends.. Feel grateful, to Eckhart yes, but also just grateful in general, just the feeling without any particular concept attached..

I've studied and taught the mysticism of St. John of the Cross, Teresa of Avila and other of the great medieval mystics - including the Cloud of Unknowing - and I believe Eckhart Tolle has a way of conveying a sense of the Presence of God as immediate and real far better than all the mystics taken together. And while his metaphysics, at least from a Christian point of view, are a bit muddied and confused, his phenomenological description of what one might otherwise call 'the intuition of Being' is unparalleled. One needn't quibble with his philosophical monism to appreciate the positively divine way he has of both communicating and exhibiting a supernaturally powerful sense of the Presence of God...God, that is, not as an object, but as the ineffable yet omnipresent condition for the possibility of being.

Thanks Eckart Tolle for guiding the humanity !Obstacles to feel the presence in ones own being seems to me emanates from mind responding to either external objects, sounds, people, smell and taste or Internal thoughts about past or the future. Unless the mind recognize these noises and become aware, it is difficult to be in the moment and feel the presence.

it is now! the moment where you feel everything but its still just the beggining,of ever greater understanding of truth...true feeling for true itself. i think he doesnt want you to be his student or whatsoever, he wants to activate you! once you feel(sence) it , you wont stop searching for it! Just how can the thought be better, feel better than the moment itself?

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I never tire of listening to Eckhart. :) He truly is the articulation of what spirit says to me. Often I experience synchronicity between what has passed through my mind recently and what he is sharing on any video of his I happen to click on here. :) This time, it was his mention of creativity as an expression of ATI. I was feeling quite joyful lately thinking after I recover from an up-coming surgery, I am looking forward to expressing more creativity in my life. It was neat to hear him speaking of what I had been thinking of in this context, as well. What a beautiful gift this man is to our world, and we all know he is just what we require right now to get us all on track to bring about a more loving, beautiful humanity. :)

Hi Eckhart Thank you so much for your tips. Any tip on this one? How parents can deal with a child who has a life-threatening condition such as peanut allergy or any food allergy for that matter. An anaphylactic shock can take your most precious loved one to the gates of death in less than 10 mn. Even if you control the environment parents are bombarded with anxiety and worry on a daily basis. How do you live when a Damocles sword is above your head for the rest of your life?

The now comes from nowhere and never goes anywhere. Now is now, permanently. You are now, literally. So what seems to happen or not happen with the personal you, a lesser self, a secondary self, means nothing. As time never stops to be all that appears to arise and recede in time never is. Time deals with what is not anymore and what is not yet. Time is a state of not. Time is literally when it is not now. This means there really are no human "beings". It's not possible to be in a field of time that never stops to be. Presence abides from presence, in presence, as presence. This is what is. The way life really is.

And, I feel that this is more respectful to Goddess, they were saying I did not dishonor the Goddess, which I liked. But then it looks as if everyone else dishonors, even though it admits that is false. As a result This setting feels very 'unopened' and unrealistic, the more you can relax the better, and this is kind of making it so you never will in some situations. That's why I discourage the composite direction layout idea, not that it couldn't help a hiker or something but that in terms of directions being philosophies, and people in everyday situations, I don't think its that relevant. I just feel like I'm coming up to things in very like exaggerated ways and no one is really talking so it ends up being funny, which it is, but at the same time I kind of have remorseful feelings about the idea of continuing this style. Its moreso than just being the better idea in a set of two, its transcending this idea of opposites clashing together, when you realize it isn't actually reflecting the reality.

I tried to practice the power of now, yes i regretted less, calmer, more confident (more like less care about anyone else think about me) but i feel numb, i feel more alive when i decided to go back and not practicing it, am i practicing it in a wrong way?
@studiocurtis6 жыл бұрын
Being fully conscious (present) is being fully alive and aware... this is the opposite of feeling numb. As Eckhart's book states, practice first with simple things like when your are washing your hands or walking up a stair case. Be fully present in what you are doing, being mindful of what all your senses are taking in. Practice focusing all you attention on the smells, the sensations, the sounds that are happening in the present moment. This is a practice of being fully alive. When you do this correctly, you will feel more alert than ever.

I honestly think anyone who reads the power of now should just excersize and meditate. I was already "woke" prior to the book through my activities. The back actually took me further away from "the power of now" or a medative state because it made me internelize what I was doing and it's impossible not to considering the book is wrote in words and the brain is what interprets words. Tbh everything the book says is true but it's an information overload I just ended up creating this fake "power of now" in my head when I was already using it prior to reading :( it's been a strange 6 months.
