I work for a range , I love the 1911's I have had two Springfields 5 " I got rid of one I still have the other and a 3" 1911 all were and are mil specs . They all were and are excellent and will eat any ammo . all though some hollow points will run right into ramp and lock open . So on some of your higher end guns like the Ed Brown Les Bear 1911 45's , we had a few come in where the people were shooting them for the first time . They were cut so close they locked up and would not fire . The slide would not move back and forth . I'm not saying don't buy one but if you do have this happen send it back . Let them fix it . If you mess with it and it doesn't work it's now your problem .....

After owning the dan wesson guardian, its hard to believe that a 1911 in the same configuration could be that much better to warrant the extra cost. It's unfortunate that most people don't have the chance to shoot these high end pistols before committing to one.

There's definitely a market for premium guns. There are significant segments of the gun buyer base that appreciate a well-crafted 1911. Does it shoot $2300 better than a $500 polymer frame striker fired pistol? No. But that's not the point. Just like an $80,000 car doesn't drive 4x better than a $20,000 car, there's definitely pride in ownership.

You always badmouth Wilson Combat based on that USED one you had, I have a problem reference thier psycho service manager , but the two I own have been flawless? Something I learned about officer sized frames, if you stick a full sized mag in one, you tend to have overinsertion and extractor issues?I have heard several occasions of Ed Brown being a total jerk to his customers, so I don’t deal with them or WC anymore, you might want to check out NightHawk, great people, amazing guns? So Ken Hackathorne and Bill Wilson just put out a video saying that optics on pistols for self defense or CC are the future, but we’re not even close yet. They say there are more negatives than positives, they only gave 1 positive, long range shooting. I disagree as I feel the RMR, Holosun 507, and Aim point are more than capable. I want my CC to have an optic, and I’m searching for the right one that’s cut from the factory. I want a polymer pistol though, not an expensive 1911.
@HonestOutlawReviews5 жыл бұрын
I love those guys but they're really out of the loop when it comes to optics apparently they have so many advantages over iron sights including one point of aim and hitting targets that are moving not to mention threat focus versus trying to focus on a front sight I honestly prefer iron sights but it's because I have so many more reps however even I can agree that optics are the future and the future is here
@jarredlkling5 жыл бұрын
I think optics on CCW guns are great, but it takes a while to become proficient with optics on a pistol and most people don't shoot their carry guns enough to do so. If you already are used to shooting with a red dot on a pistol I would say its a huge force multiplier for CCW but if you are new to them I don't think its a good idea to carry with a red dot unless your willing to do the range time with it. As far as a good polymer gun with factory optic cuts I would go for a CZ p10-S OR. I have the P10-c and carry it daily with an RMR and a Inforce aplc in a custom Kydex holster. I wish i had the P10-s though. The p10-s OR is the subcompact version, its Ambi and they make it with factory optics cuts and it can be found online for sub $600.
