@@fox2569 there is a reason why Eddie has yet to commit to coming back out on the stage. One being is that he hasn't done it in years. Eddie was ahead of his time with his type of 'raw' material by about 20-30 years. I remember when this special first aired back in 1987 and also watching his Delirious special back in 1983. I recall when watching it, I was kind of horrified and somewhat repulsed by it. He seemed like he was WAY over the edge in those, into x-rated territory. Remember this was the stiff Nancy Reagan / Say No To Drugs era. I was a young guy at the time, and able to roll with heavy and dark comedy, but this material was way above anything else. Part of the shock was because Eddie Murphy at the time was still riding high on all his fame. He had a very funny and mostly wholesome image in all of his other endeavors. So America thought we knew him well enough from seeing him on SNL, in his movies (e.g., Beverly Hills Cop) and listening to his music. So when he dropped these molten meteoric planet killing comedy specials, fans gasped for breath and winced as we half covered our eyes and ears. It was a lot to take in. Kind of like finding out your mom has a kinky S&M sex dungeon in the basement with a famous OnlyFans account. Watching it now, after all these years, and after all the raunchy hip hop music and videos, always-on dark porn, and the shock-comedians that came after him, now it seems pretty tame overall. It still hits hard for sure, but there's a lot less "pearl clutching" when he says his jokes. Long live Eddie Murphy. The man who never seems to age.

Listen to the women cheering in the first half, and then how silent they are when the shit gets turned around on them. They're proud of their entitlement.

Once you've accepted the fact that men and women desire, and do, the exact same things, tell the exact same lies and pursue the exact same dreams, you'll be at peace, man. Love is not a mission, it's a bonus.

They got silent because Eddie exposed their strategy and no matter how hard women try to deny or deflect the issue they hate losing one of their state secrets 👍

@@learntospellpeople Men can laugh at themselves easier than women because men have all their guy friends that constantly berate them, in a joking way, usually, whereas women have friends that tell them how great they are, and how special they are, so when they get insulted or criticised, they always have 4 or 5 other people who will jump to her aid and defend her. But when a guy gets insulted or criticised, he just grins and bears it, because who would want to stick up for a man, he can take care of himself right?

One of the most underrated actors imo. Obviously a great stand up comedian but also a great comedy actor. I loved Richard Pryor but feel Eddie Murphy more versatile. I feel most of his movies are great and even the less great ones are watchable solely because of him. I loved him in Holy Man, as that proved he is a great actor also. To me, he is on par with Robin Williams.

I'm not accusing Chappelle of ANYTHING aside from being a student of His Craft. Pryor, Murphy, Carlin and so many other Greats have this way of pulling You in and telling you a fantastic HILARIOUS Story that just happens to touch on the fundamental truths of Life.
