Yeah but people say this all the time as if he quit eating junk food and sitting on the couch or something. Strongmen get like that because they're chasing a dream, and putting your body through that is a direct consequence / requirement to fulfill that dream. Yes, he is still a beast but it's not like he can do what he did when he was 200 kg, it can't be treated as "some obese guy who finally lost weight", it's just that he accomplished what he was after and he no longer had a reason to endure being that heavy. There is a big difference.

The saddest part about all this is that Thor and Eddie seemed on decent terms prior to the 2017 WSM. You can see Eddie's win and special moment was tainted by Thor being a diva and the fuss he kicked up, for which he was totally in the wrong. I agree with you 100% both have been assholes to one another since and were nothing of the sort prior to WSM 2017. But if you were Eddie Hall, if you had just won something that mattered more to you than anything else, you'd set out on this 10 year journey to pursue it, through all the ups and downs, injuries and setbacks and you finally win in one of THE most competitive WSM shows of all time, and then some man child cry baby goes and taints it by saying you cheated, or the event was rigged, it just soured that total experience for a man that's literally dedicated half of his life to this profession, not to mention his health. Eddie has to live with that for rest of his life now, he'll look back smiling at his achievement and then suddenly be hit by the memory of bad sportsmanship for a competitor. I'd be fuming.

Eddie would have won regardless of that Thor's 1 rep counting or not. Thor did get 2-3 warnings and officials still gave him 3 reps with bad form instead of not counting them but with 4th warning they took away his 1 rep and he was okay with it until he got to know that 1 rep decided the winner. If you look at Eddie he did exactly how much he needed to win and he 100% had 2 more reps in him because that last rep didn't took too much struggle. Eddie won fair but thor blaming Eddie for his loss and called Eddie a cheat. Eddie's reps were perfect with no warning where thor got 3-4 warning is enough for anyone to tell who was strongest man in that year. I agree with most what you said, however: Thor made his complaints towards the referee: Colin Bryce, not Hall. The only reason Hall has a problem with this is because it endangered his chances of winning. They finished with only a point difference. I absolutely believe that Hall was the strongest presser, squater and deadlifter that year. However, my problems with WSM are the absurd conflict of interest: Bryce being both the head referee and the organiser. Bryce being there when Eddie his book got published the same year as he won WSM, ie: they are both friends AS WELL as business partners. I mean, are you shitting me? How is this even remotely allowed? No wonder evil tongues are claiming the events were changed in Hall's favour: WSM2017 had the most static events compared to others years. Dynamic events aren't Hall's strongsuit (look at the results). There are some serious polictical issues underneath the surface in the history of WSM and this Thor/Eddie debacle is just one of them. How about Giants Live, guess again Bryce is the producer of Giants Live too, not acknowledging Thor his WR deadlift using the same argument as Eddie: 'it wasn't done in a competition'. However, they let Iron Biby break the WR on the axle without competition.. So.. it no longer matters? O right, it's because the entire organisation is shady and corrupt.

The first few heart palpitations left me feeling breathless and I thought I was having a heart attack in my mid-30s, however the rest weren't as bad. I also had annoying pains in the back of my hands a lot too, with veins clearly being blocked multiple times a week. Then out of nowhere the heart palpitations and hand pains stopped. I'd estimate it's been roughly a year with no vascular pains... However I have pains of a different sort. They stopped shortly before I finally got to see some specialists at the hospital for the psoriasis all over my body, and pains in practically every joint in my body, a couple of which seem permanent. The specialist confirmed what I've known for years, that I have arthritis. My psoriasis has practically all gone after roughly 5 weeks of UV light therapy which finished last Monday, and roughly 6 months of taking folic acid and methotrexate pills which I'm still taking for my joints. However my left shoulder still has the permanent pain I've had in it for roughly 2-3 years whenever I lift my arm above shoulder height, and my right achilles tendon has had a pain in it for roughly 6-7 months whenever I attempt to run or stretch it.

Even seeing Eddie train on a daily basis and seeing the monster he became up close, it frightens me seeing him. Beast by name, Beast by nature. I think it'll be a long time before we see anyone that isn't as naturally gifted / doesn't have the archetype strong man body win it. Edd threw everything at it which is why the fight will be no different.

I’d genuinely say what Connor and Khabib is to MMA, you and Thor are to Worlds Strongest man and any other strength event. You’ve brought so many people into watching these strength events through your natural (but sad) rivalry with Thor, and it’s brought strength events to a new high.

Eddie won fair and square. Thor thought that because he had a conversation with the officials before the whole competition started telling them that he does the Viking press incorrectly when he is tired and at the backend of his set/lift that they would just keep counting them for him anyway as if he was different to all the other competitors and should be aloud to do it anyway he wants to benefit himself. hahaha it was so pathetic to see. well done Eddie you are the better WSM

Always been a big fan of Eddie's, I find it a shame how thor acted when he lost, seems like a great friendship was ruined and the sport hasn't quite been the same since and has taken a while for competitors even close to the level to emerge since (except brian ofc) no wsm finals have had quite the same gravity since it used to be the likes of eddie, Brian, thor and big z
@Mrpouletdu332 жыл бұрын
I agree with the second part of your comments, it was really more entertaining when Thor, Eddie and Brian were in the same competition. They had a real personality and especially the ability to surpass all the others every year. Just look at the differences in the lift when it was their era and now, there was a regression... But for the first part I'm not ok, I think Eddie has things to reproach himself too.
