BIG fan of galvanized tubs. I usually put my salad greens and herbs in them near the kitchen door - a shorter walk than the big garden. Great tips!

Laura I adore you and your channel soooooo much!! I have a teeeeeeny little balcony that I've crammed with little pots, long pots, high pots and never did I think to just get a massive tub and shove them all in there! It's so much easier for moving as well as we are in a rental. Your passion is infectious - I'm off to my local hardware store..... NOW

Can you do more videos on this type of plantings? Especially compatible type plantings. Love this thank you so much. I have NEVER understood gardening until I started watching your videos. I look forward to them everyday. I am truly inspired by everything you do. You keep everything short and to the point and yet very informative in what you are teaching. Keep going! God made you for this.

Laura, a suggestion... Maybe take something to slightly bend the edge of those containers so that the water doesn't sit under them? It's a pain when the water remains beneath them and rots them. Can we get updates on how these do? 🌾 Green Blessings 🌿
@gardenanswer8 жыл бұрын
We'll definitely post updates!!! These ended up on gravel, so the water will be able to soak into the ground (thankfully!). :)
@SansaStarkofWinterfell8 жыл бұрын
Oh good! So glad they're on gravel, I know from past issues on pavement those don't drain so well. =D I look forward to seeing them Laura! Thank you. 🌾 Green Blessings 🌿

MY ONLY CONCERN would be moving those tubs. Could you perhaps put some wheels under them to make handling them easier and also when the weather changes perhaps you could relocate them.

Elizabeth B great idea!
@1998warriors7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if these are available at every location, but I know Home Depot has some kind of platform with wheels that's meant for moving larger/heavier pots. They aren't very big, but I'm sure two or three could move a container that large.

woman! you inspire me!! 😊 I have several tomato plants and some leaves are starting to curl and I noticed some blooms just falling...I'm sad, but why are they doing this? I've fertilized and tend to them almost daily! it's been hard since back surgery. I've tried my best but I need help. thank you!
@aribh49298 жыл бұрын
Curling is normal somtimes, I'm no expert but from what I read it doesn't usually affect the fruit. And I think the blooms falling might just mean that the flowers are getting ready to ripen into fruit! Good luck with your recovery:)

I love the convenience of the Epsoma organic liquid premeasured fertilizer but it is extremely expensive when you have to use 3 doses per gallon of water. I bought some but I just can't afford that. For a small bottle it cost over $13!

Are the galvanized tubs safe for food? I know you're planting in them, but I have a galvanized tub outside and it is rusty in certain spots. This always throws me off.

Questions: 1- Without some sort of insert, won’t there be too much zinc or some thing leeching into the plants? 2- I’ve never tried planting in galvanized pots with edibles, especially outdoors, because I was afraid they would rust. Do they not do that?

took me 2 days to find this one again---LOL wanted to find the one where you plant raspberries in container and couldn't remember which one it was---so excited as I have been digging many strawberries and have a square galvanized tub ready for planting! Would you add marigold also or just leave the raspberry and strawberries? Thanks--Kristy

I need more ideas like this but with more vegetables and fruits. Can you do trees like this? How heavy were the tubs?
@gardenanswer8 жыл бұрын
The tubs weren't too bad, but you definitely want to put them in the spot you want them to stay before you fill them with soil. You could try trees in there, but you would only get a season or two out of them because their roots need more space to grow. We'll have lots more fruit/vegetable gardening ideas next season! :)

Garden Answer thank you. I'm still learning and my husband hates the idea of a garden.
@hhoversonhh7 жыл бұрын
Keisha I think mine is finally coming around to the idea..start small. Show him that you can be successful at gardening. I've been growing tomatoes,peppers melons, peas, radishes and onions. All in containers. I heard him talking to the neighbor about building me some raised beds. So maybe next year... Oh ya! I added carrots and bush beans to the list this year. lol
@TheSingingGamer8 жыл бұрын
Dear Garden Answer, I really admire your works and your garden. I always wanted to grow edibles by seed or buy edible plants and re-pot them in a big bowl shaped pot. I live near the beach and there is a condo that was built near my house that covered some sunlight for my other garden in my backyard. Will I be still able to plant and grow edible plants at my place. The earth keeps rotating and I have more sunlight in my frontyard and backyard but I am afraid if the earth rotates back to giving my garden so much shade and no sunlight for a few months. What can you advise me or tell me about my situation? Love, The Singing Gamer 'Rose'

@gardenanswer8 жыл бұрын
The big tubs have handles, so before I watered them in Aaron and I were able to move them into place. They contain about one 2 cubic bag of soil each, so they weren't too heavy. :)
