I just saw your Fallon Taylor interview, and I loved how sensitive and compassionate you were to her story. You are the same with Phil Heath. I remember watching Mr. Olympia and seeing Big Lou Ferrigno, Franco Columbu and Frank Zane. You know what, there is no shame in failure. Where the failure is, is finding the strength to get back up and try again. I was a Paramedic for 37 years and I was told at aged 18 after graduating high school, and doing 2 years Pre-med, that I couldn't be a doctor. So I went to the counsellor and asked what I could do with the education I had, she told me "Become a Paramedic", and so I did. I still love the 2 cities I served. Love from a former Paramedic in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

I have always found a direct correlation between an athlete’s mindset of training for their sport, even if it’s a mom training for a 5k, and achievement of non sport goals. Goals in a relationship, goals in a career or goals as a parent. This interview drives that point home.

Phil is very polarising in the bodybuilding community but I have always said that he's misunderstood. He's an extremely competitive and focussed individual who is as much brains as he his brawn. He's brought some of the greatest physiques that bodybuilding has ever seen and is truly one of the GOATs. With bodybuilders seemingly dropping like flies lately, I'm really happy to see Phil here looking and sounding well.

I remember when Phil was getting hatred during the winning. What he said shed so much light on that. People will resent you when you're winning. Tom Brady. Lewis Hamilton. Steph Curry. It happens in all sports. I could never hate someone who's winning. Because the very fact that they are shows they've put in work to reach the level of greatness they have achieved. And I draw motivation and drive from that and tell myself, "I want to reach greatness in my life also." That could be competition, career, a passion, and/or just a strong mental state of beinf that draws others to you for guidance in their own lives. Anyways, great to hear Phil's thoughts on that. Often times in sports we forget that the top level athletes are still human so we shouldn't resent them for doing what they do - competing to win. How could you dislike someones success?

"They're still there, though" As a fat boy, I think that is going to be a breakthrough phrase for me. I always feel like that "treat" won't be there in the future so I need to eat it now. I overeat out of unspoken, unrecognized fear. He said that, and it instantly resonated.
