Awww that left me so sad to see the house gone. 😢 The end of an era, the people who lived there no longer alive, many years of happy family moments. Now to be replaced and forgotten by generations to come. So glad that you have that documented. Thanks for another awesome explore.

I am really enjoying your research. I remember when we had some flooring done in the late 70’s they used to use masonite under the underlining which sometimes meant you had to adjust the doors to open and close. 🙄

Well it lasted a hundred years, and about 50 or 60 years as a family home. Time waits for nobody, on the one hand it is sad because the new homes built have no style or soul. But on the other those that move into the new homes are just starting life over. But will the new tract homes built there last one hundred years? I bet not...

Thanks Paul, the back story is just as, or more interesting as the home. I puts a name and a face to what we or most have forgotten. I have seen at least one of your videos where a person wrote that that was her gandma's home and thanked you for the tour thru the home she played in 40 years ago.

Very Good vid with provenance!!!At 18.30min those c1900 railway platform scales were amazing!! They must have used them for weighing goods before sending them off so they knew how much to charge the customer. Also, the cabinet handle display plate you flipped over at 21min was an indication they sold kitchen cabinet handles at the factory at some point as well. Love the revisit of the house. I would call those bath tub legs queen Anne or cabriolet style as they lacked the carving of the clawfoot. Would have liked you to open the red lid bin with the black cross on it and the oven doors. You never know what’s inside 😀

Oh my, those were some beautiful looking original light fixtures, until we got to the ugly out of place plastic one at 26:07, at which point I had to chuckle, then chuckle again when I seen it appropriately refused in the backyard at 36:12. What a great bit of history youve found in that area. The old bathtubs are a great find. There was also a wooden stick left in the bathroom basin that i believe to be used in the twin troughs, to move hot linen from one side to the other so you didnt scold your hands. My Nan still used hers in her laundry for many years.

Whenever I see the cracks in these old places, I,m remined of the earthquake- it was in the mid fifties, I,m not sure what year, as I was about 7 yrs old and at 166 Hampstead rd, Broadview and my mum telling me to hang onto the fence- but the fence was moving !! and then jumping the cracks in the ground !! I was too fascinated to be afraid !! LOL a crack opened up in the northern wall of that house that you could put your hand through. Thanks for all your work.
