And I know they're making the Republic incompetent in order for the ST to happen.....but they don't realize they're making the new republic incompetent so freakin much that it makes NO sense that they were even able to GET into the position of power. Even with the emperor defeated, the empire would have still been able to kick the mentally retarded republics ass everywhere that Luke wasn't at. Seriously, with the way this republic is structured, the most realistic outcome with the empires defeat would have been intergalactic faction warfare, with the new republic being one of those factions. Haha, oh, that Chopper sure is a scamp, isn't he?" Chit-chat dialogue like this should be reserved for literally any character in the show but Mon Mothma. 17:35 - They were so preoccupied with 'Bad News Bears'ing Sabine to make her likeable that they forgot that there's absolutely no reason why Ahsoka would want to train her over an actual force-sensitive character like Jason, who is a child and the appropriate age for being a Padawan. Sabine is canonically in her 30s by this point, far older than Luke was when Yoda said he was too old to learn. And she already has a skill. It would be like pulling Simu Hayha aside in WW2 and training him in the medieval art of jousting. You'd actually be doing more harm than good by wasting his time and reducing the Soviet soldiers he could be killing instead. The only reason Ahsoka would ever waste her time on this character at this exact point would be if she were sexually attracted to her and making it all up to try to seduce her. 23:15 - The only time in this show any of these characters emotes in any way other than a smirk. 31:40 - It's just like how you can put 7 engines in a Ford Mustang and it can suddenly break the sound barrier and drive around the planet, right?

What really sucks is that about half the Rebels cast is just not in the show (even as of episode 6). 1) You have Zeb who was the furry purple guy who made a cameo in Mando S3. He was the muscle of the group and was ezra's best friend. 2)Agent Kallus who was the main antagonist of the first couple of Rebel's seasons and a high ranking empire soldier under the command of Thrawn. He eventually defected and joined the rebellion. 3) and then you have Commander Rex who is an old clone trooper who was under the command of Anakin and Ahsoka. Ahsoka and Rex were very good friends. Ahsoka freed him from order 66 by cutting out his behavior chip. They reunited near the middle of rebels and he was a mainstay of the cast. As of ep5 he has had one voiceline cameo. I have no clue why these 3 characters aren't being utilized or even just mentioned as all of them are extremely important to Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine and Hera and would be heavily invested in getting ezra back and preventing thrawn's return. They even have Temura Morisan who is now the same age range Rex is supposed to be so why wouldn't he tag along with ahsoka? Although, given the quality of the show and what they've done to Ahsoka, Hera, and Sabine I'm actually glad they aren't in the show.

I can't deny that the only conclusion I've been able to come to that even *begins* to explain why *those* characters *aren't* here, but all *these* characters *are* here... Is because *those* characters (theoretically, in Zeb's case) have testicles and penises... Like, I really have gone through an *exhaustive* list of alternative explanations, and this is the one that lines up the most. The laser flak is quite frustrating to me. Flak itself would probably be very useful in Star Wars, the point of such a weapon is to not require direct hits but to throw shrapnel in an area to allow a greater chance of causing damage. But with laser flak, it's just smoke. Not only can this non-physical shot not spread damage in a wide area, we're shown in this very show how ineffective it is as they just fly right through it all. I suppose it's consistent though. Lightsabres don't cause damage to people either.
@tabull81809 ай бұрын
And still we have seen weapons like "seismic charges" that already have greater area of effect than the actual point of explosion. If flak type weapons were used, it would cause some kind of effect around the explosion to have greater area of effect even when not shrapnel specifically.

For the same effects budget and slightly less stupidity, just make them ion cannons instead and have the shields that are supposed to be there sparkle from the ion charge as it flashes past. We know there's ion cannons in Star Wars, we've seen them and what they do to ships and shields... if you want the ship temporarily disabled but not destroyed... i mean, this fixes that entire scene without any of the idiocy. I’m glad Rags mentioned there being a reason the villain keeping the hero alive being they need them because they have part of the map, well funny thing is clone wars does that pretty well. There was an arc about this secret hyperspace route called the nexus route that shoots right to the center of both republic and separatist home planets. A Jedi Even Piell had it, he communicated that to the council, but the transmission was intercepted. While on their way, Piell and a few of his officers were captured, and all the rest were presumed killed. He memorized half of the nexus route info, and his next in command, Captain Tarkin, (yes, that Tarkin) memorized the other half. They’re captured and taken to a torture prison called The Citadel, and the council dispatched Anakin, Obi-Wan, and a small task force to rescue them and the info. Ahsoka stows away in there as well, but that’s not important. In the end, Piell dies and passes his half onto Ahsoka as she was the only one around when they got separated from the group during a battle. She relayed the info to the council as she promised Piell she would, but Tarkin was following orders to give the info directly to the Chancellor. This info would later be used by the separatists to get to Coruscant in order to kidnap the Chancellor and lead to Episode III ALSO in the clone wars there is a Twi’lek woman who had two children with a clone deserter and those kids looked believably half and half ALSO ALSO the clone wars has a scene where a class of clone cadets take a shot at firing from a gunner’s seat in a cruiser during a training voyage. A gunnery sergeant fires out scrap as targets, so it’s essentially skeet shooting in space. This training is being overseen by the admiral of the flagship, and witnesses first cadet missing a shot during the training. From there, the following dialogue ensues: Gunnery sergeant: Not even close, next! Cadet: But I- Admiral: Oh no, you’re done. You only get one chance. I promise you the separatists don’t give more. It provides a real insight into how important it is that one shot can make all the difference. Now let’s pair this with Ahsoka: Sabine:*misses* Ahsoka: Don’t worry about it, you’ll get another chance. So let me get this straight. We have a clone child who is grown physically to be about 10, but is mentally 5, and has been given the lesson that every shot counts. He is taught this in relation to target practice, where he is not in danger, on a heavily armed and armored warship that is the precursor to the Star Destroyer. Then we have Sabine, who is probably around 20 or so, in a tiny minimally armed shuttle, being pursued by 6 fighters trying to kill them, and she’s being told that she’ll get another chance? Are you sure about that?

The scene where she jumps around on the ship slicing up starfighters with her lightsaber doesn't make any sense. And I will give a few reasons why. 1) I don't care how small those ships are they should not be thin enough to be cut through by a single lightsaber which is a weapon that has become equivalent to a toy dirk knife at this point. 2) If she was wearing magnetic boots, she would be absolutely stuck to the ship with no means of dodging or strafing at all. So she really did just go out there without any kind of boots or insurance. Also, when you jump off a ship in zero gravity you don't make an arc back onto the ship you just continue out into space. Though I shouldn't be surprised, after all, if the Blaster fire from the ship cannons wasn't enough to knock her back then why should simple physics? 3) I'm no expert on space travel but I'm pretty sure that it requires a massive amount of force to make a ship move in zero gravity, force that I assume would decimate any person it flies by in zero gravity, or at the very least it would knock her off. 5) Even after all this, the very least they could have done is use a space tether cable which is what ASTRONAUTS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN OUTSIDE! Otherwise, one wrong move and the person on the ship will go floating off into space which... oh wait, THATS WHAT HAPPENED! Ahsoka doesn't even sound the least bit concerned about it. Even though there are two ships still flying after them. Star Wars is slowly dying under the choking grip of Kathleen Kennedy, I look forward to the day that Star Wars falls into the hands of more competent people, even if it means for Disney to go bankrupt. PS: I didn't forget the count to four, I just don't like the number.

31:47 Time for some pre-Disney EU tism, boys. The idea behind “Hyperspace Lanes” was that since hyperspace jumps require navigation calculations to ensure one doesn’t crash into a Star or something (per Han’s comments in ANH), a Hyperspace Lane would be lines through the galaxy which were reliably free of such obstructions, and therefore became useful for interstellar travel. The idea of an “intergalactic” hyperspace lane makes no sense, because the space between galaxies is already less obstructed by nature. (In the EU, the big barrier to intergalactic travel was time and fuel - galaxies are far apart, so intergalactic expeditions were logistically complicated in terms of keeping the crew alive and the ship running that long. There was a species of intergalactic aliens, the Yuzhan Vong, however they arrived in the main galaxy on colony ships after journey of at least several centuries). Also, “turbo lasers” used to be a capital ship’s big guns analogous to the main cannons on a battleship: powerful but slow firing, so only really of use against other capital ships. No idea why they work like flak cannons now. Also also, the main characters explicitly drop out of hyperspace at the edge of the system, but are somehow ambushed from behind?

18:10 We've seen from multiple sources, and even Ashoka herself as a baby that using force powers has nothing to do with training, your just born with it. Rey proved that you could go your entire life without training for 20 years and still be a master at it, so long as you were born with the blood of a past force user. Not everyone can use the force.

After playing a bit of the original Battlefront 2 I realised how badly these Disney shows have to stretch logic and the rules of fighter combat to make these scenes exist. A world where the bad guys' weapons only bruise while the heroes are armed with lasers that explode anything with a touch, where a dedicated fighter and anti-vehicle cannons are no match for a single dinky turret on a mobile home. Also, can I ask what happened to lock-on missiles, I haven't watched any Star Wars in years but they definitely had them in Episode III and I'm pretty sure Vader used them in his TIE Interceptor in A New Hope

I fully believe the main reason the New Republic didnt give Twi'lek a fleet is because now its canon they tore Star Destroyers apart they dont know what ships the NR should have considering the vast majority of Nebulon-B frigates and Mon Cal cruisers got schwacked in the trap at Endor

I think it's because she's in the Republic's air force equivalent rather than the navy, which likely means that she has far less discretion and autonomy than a naval officer of a similar rank. I don't know if it's that's canonically the case but it would explain why she's always dealing with fighter operations whilst not being part of the navy.
@josephjackson96799 ай бұрын
@@handles_are_a_bit_rubbish sadly for you, canonically once you reach the rank of general you get put in charge of a fleet, there arent any starfighter generals. Wedge resists promotion for as long as possible because it means he has to leave his squadron to run fleets. Generals and admirals oversee capital ships and the "wings"(12 squadrons of 12 starfighters if I remember rightly) held therein. If anything Hera should be swamped with her daily duties and in full command of her own task force. In essence, even if you start in the starfighter corps, go above colonel and you're running the fleet

Aye, General is an Administrative Position, not a field one. ‘Generals” in the rebellion were fighting in the field, because they were not a fully fledged Military Force, at most they were a militia, and they were so resource strapped that everyone had to fight. But the New Republic is a Fully fledged State, with a Standing Military Force. If Hera really is a General, then she should be Administering orders to her troops, allocating resources, and essentially doing a lot of busywork behind the scenes, not galavanting across the Galaxy.

Hearing you guys talk about how you wish they would show what dark side training is like because light side training is always so boring made me realize just how far Dave Filoni has fallen as a creator, because stuff like that is what he & his team offered on The Clone Wars - in that show, there's an entire episode dedicated to Count Dooku training a new apprentice, really highlighting the stark differences in the ideologies of the light & dark sides of the force. There was one test in particular that I remember very vividly, which was essentially an extreme version of Yoda making Luke lift rocks - Dooku would torture Savage Oppress with sith lightning until he was able to lift 4 massive stone pillars with the force.

I love how the lasers are all meant to be flak rounds (I guess), but whoever made that decision is so dumb they don't recognize the purpose of flak is to spew a cloud of fragments to rip stuff apart so you don't need a direct hit to destroy it. This is especially stupid when here we have every single blast "detonating"(?) within what looks to be less than 20 meters and somehow not damaging the ship.

Disney's use of Thrawn in the Rebels show and this is exactly how they treated Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness. The plot and characters treat the character the way the fans do even though there's no reason for them to do so. Literally a jangly keys moment because the writers can't come up with anything resembling a good plot. What hurts worse for me as someone who read the old Legends (Expanded Universe) books going back literal decades is Disney declared the old books non-canon but have no problem plundering it and desecrating what was already good writing.

A ‘general” meets with the Senators and starts the discussion casually about family matters. Then requests resources to chase her hunch about an Imperial Grand Admiral, but provides none of her findings as evidence to convince them. Finally, she insults and berates a Senator and goes on an emotional spiel about her quest for Thrawn being personal.. This outburst along with her being so casual about unofficial inspections, throwing around her rank to attempt to bypass procedures and compartmentalized information in the previous episode make it clear why the Senators have so little faith in her word. It’s shocking how she ever managed to make it to the rank of Kitchen Patrol, let alone a General.
