The release. My favourite subject, Marcus. 👍 A great reminder for all of us to keep practicing the ‘release’. Cheers mate. Jacko 🇦🇺

I will nag you all about it until every golfer in the world understands it. 😁

Club head speed not power . You are right all great ball strikers, even Moe Norman from hip to hip are all the same with the hands and more importantly the trail elbow that pushes the trail wrist past the lead wrist. There body might be open or closed but trail hand is overtaking lead hand. Great video

I try to repeat it until all golfers understand it like you do. 👍

Coincidentally i spent 2 hours today practicing the L to L drill making sure the club toe was pointing straight up on the follow thru. Certainly got rid of my out to in swing path 😂

I have started extending my trail arm..and its working really well. Though what direction do you extend your trail arm. I think you say extend back. If you used the numbers on a clock .what time should we extend our arm to? Thanks.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad21 күн бұрын
There is no extension point that works for everyone. It all depends on how fast we can extend. The ball will tell us if we do it early enough. 👍

Hi Marcus, enjoying your countdown to Christmas, no snow here in Australia, only intense heat and humidity. Can you give us your thoughts on supernation or rolling of the wrists, is it the same as one slow hand one fast hand
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad20 күн бұрын
I would love some summer heat right now. 😊 I am not teaching a roll of the wrists. The fast trail hand should move upwards when passing not around. This will keep the face from over rotating. It’s a extension of the lead wrist and a flexion of the trail wrist. 👍
@GregPitt-s5s20 күн бұрын
@ Thanks for your reply Marcus, I see so much of this rolling of the wrist on KZbin, I agree it makes it difficult to control the club face. As I am 68 I find your circle of speed much easier to generate speed. Have just spent the last 5 years helping my wife with stage 4 cancer. After chemo, radiation and immunotherapy she is now free from cancer, we know every cancer journey is different, we wish you all the best with yours.

@@GregPitt-s5s Thank you. We all have different struggles in life. I'm really glad it worked out to the better. I'm on my way back and grateful for every day. Please say hi to your wife and I wish you a great holiday. 🙏

Thanks Marcus. Did you ever have a student that had physical difficulties doing that? I mean, when I try it, my left wrist starts to hurt after a few shots...
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad21 күн бұрын
Sad to hear that you get hurt hitting balls. I have maybe 3 golfers during 15 years that had problems in a wrist but it was solved with strength training. I wish I could give you a better answer but I need to see in detail what is happening to get more information.

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Well thank you. Actually your videos helped me a lot with reducing back pain. It would probably be easier if I wasn't allergic to gyms 🙈

Does it feel almost like I’m scooping? Trail hand pulling club straight in air on backswing and then pushing down on downswing. I get big hook when I do this although I get great compression
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad21 күн бұрын
Today instructors call it extension of the lead wrist and yes that is scooping. The scoop takes away your hook and is necessary for everyone. Watch this for more info: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZqWqax9YrSEhLMsi=zEZpTJ3ES44m-rwT

I notice your forearms rotate after impact so the back of your trail hand is facing out( away from you towards the viewer ) .... shouldn't the back of the trail hand be facing down if your wrists are moving in a underhanded tossing motion thru and AFTER impact and there is no rotation of the forearms? Sorry for this silly question...but it's the forearm motion that confuses me and I think the release is sooooo important . Is this considered a "no face rotation release" ...is that our goal? Once I get this.... I think my golf swing will improve 90%! Next year I will start online lessons with you...can't wait!!! I just need to get some good videos for you.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad20 күн бұрын
There will always be some face rotation but if we can keep it to a minimum it’s a lot easier to hit it straight. 👍
@bayougolf752421 күн бұрын
When you say the trail hand “passes” the lead hand do you mean the trail hand with its natural movement to the finish to the lead shoulder with a slight rotation I know this is like splitting a.frog hair question but I’m hoping your not saying to “roll” the hands manually Naturally works pretty good for me but rolling creates a hook Great string of videos to the Christmas finish Marcus 👍⛳️👍
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad21 күн бұрын
Never any intentional roll of the wrist/forearm if you don’t want too hook it. Just let the trailhand overtake the lead hand, no rolling over. We go up, not around. 👍

you said when you use an iron the release is later then to illustrate a driver you used an iron? how much sense does that make?

We can hit up with any club and down with any club. We only need to understand how to do it. Did you understand? I have a whole series made with only driver if you like. Start here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHK8hqiMfNyojbc
