Paul, I am 70 years old and play off 12. A few of years ago when you were the first and I think only instructor on Revolution Golf, I followed your tips and all was going quite well. Since then I have had thouands of tips from too many different RG instructors and my mind has become totally clogged with different thoughts each time I try to swing tyhe club. For some reason I came across your instructional videos again and have now twice played using the original effortless swing you have always promoted and which I had forgotten all about. The results were amazing. My golf is back. I am hitting the ball further and straighter and my enjoyment of the game has returned. I cannot thank you enough. Everything once again makes sense! Okay..I watched your videos all week, went to the range two days and today I played a round. My handicap is 23 and today I hit in the 80s for the first time ever! I hit 87! My biggest change was the easy swing..relaxed swing from start to finish. Every one of my drives was on the fairway and I only chunked one swing off the fairway. 87! Thank you.

Amazing stuff. I am an 12 handicap. Started practicing this technique and I went out and bought a swing speed radar. I had a 95 mph swing and that was when I was trying my hardest to bash it with my old normal swing. I have it over 103mph now and still trying to get my hips to turn harder and faster. First round I played I shot an 85, which was about average. Second time out after practicing this technique for days and days, I shot a 77. Everything was straighter and longer. I had some miss hits to be sure, but seriously man. This works. Thanks!

Hey guys, I was fortunate to be at Bears Best golf club on April 7 , 21018 and noticed Paul talking with one of his students, when Paul waved me over to him. After introductions, I told him I was from Tampa and a fan and took a chance on seeing him there that day. Whereby Paul began to give me a 30 minute one on one lesson and I was beside myself. I watched him hit some shots with his driver 300 + yards while I was on a knee right behind his ball as he hit the shot. Wow, it was something to see up close; It seemed he was swinging in slow motion, but the ball really jumped off the face of his driver. Ya can't see or hear that while watching him on KZbin TV. Paul, thank you for being so generous with your time and thank you very much for that freebie. Best regards, Richard Lee

I have been playing golf for over 35 years. I have seen and heard it all....Golf Channel Academy, Golf Digest, etc. I heard some where along the way about lower body, coil/uncoil, etc., and I said, yeah, OK and stored it way in the back of my mind, thinking there must be something else and chased many tips along the way. None really helped, but only made me more confused and more inconsistent. Then I recently saw Paul on a number of his videos stressing the importance of the lower body, and demonstrating how it actually works. It was transformational! I now know how to actually swing a golf club. Thank you Paul! You are the best, the real deal -- much better at instructing then anyone out there. It is now going on seven days since incorporating your tips and the results in my game have been remarkable! Thanks again, Paul. Stan Truskie, Ph.D.

I have your Swing Machine Golf video series, Paul. My average score went from 100+ to mid eighties. I no longer slice, and in fact now have the ability to shape shots any direction I want. I don't have extreme distance, but I have a better scorecard than most of the people I play with because of you. Thank you, you kept me from walking away from this game. To anyone watching this video and wondering if it really works, I implore you to just try it. When you get the hang of it, and that shot splits the fairway, I guarantee, you're hooked.

I have been playing for almost a year now and started out shooting on average about 100 -105. Short game and putting was always good but my drive was HORRIFIC. I would slice 16 drives out of bounds consistently. I put your tip into place, loose wrists, easy swing and let the club do all the work. It has improved my score by an average of 10-12 strokes. The last 4 times I shot 86, 91, 89, and 92. Your tip has completely turned my game around. 80% of my drives are straight. Thanks Paul!

I came across your method and it really made sense. A month ago I was a 8 handicap and was being tortured by coming over the top or slicing my drives over half the time. I was always having to use my strengths to make up for my driver. I was hitting my driver about 250 at best and my 3 wood about 220. After using your method for a few weeks, my numbers are 260+ and 230, and rarely over the top or weak cuts. I’m using the method on all of my shots and although I am gaining a few yards per club, I really like that my control has improved. I am so excited to practice and use your method every time out because I feel like I’m improving each time. Note: I am now 61 and used to play college golf back in the day. After over 15 surgeries later (back x2, neck x 3 disks, shoulder x 3 and multiple other joints), I lost or had to recreate my swing. This method makes great sense. Now if can cure my putting stroke .
@paulwilsongolf4 жыл бұрын
That's great news. Plus, you do my swing you will not be in pain. That's a good thing for the future. Putting is easy. If you can't putt you are thinking of your stroke. Palm to the target like you are throwing a ball. Become target oriented and you will be great. Oh yeah, only practice 30+ footers and 6 feet or less. Never practice 12 footers. Thank me later.

I know this is an old video, but I come back to it occasionally. I'm not sure most people realize how remarkable it is when Paul goes from mid-90s on the monitor to 115 with hardly any effort. It's remarkable and fascinates me every time I watch it. Now I'm 6'4" and have always been pretty long off the tee, usually a 300+yd driver or so. It's the one thing in golf that always clicked for me (short game - not so much lol). I remember watching this video a few years ago and briefly trying some of the loose wrist stuff, but didn't really take all of it to heart (dumb, I know). Fast forward: I didn't really play during COVID and suffered a minor back injury. When I got back out there in 2021, my drive was all over the place AND I felt like I was losing distance. So I came back to this video and really started working on a more effortless swing. On the monitor on the range today, I was hitting 120+ consistently with the driver - topping out at 127mph clubhead speed!!! This swing has completely changed my thought process on swinging a golf club. Many thanks!!!
@paulwilsongolf2 жыл бұрын
Wow! Those are big numbers but at 6'4" it's doable. Wish I was that tall. So you now see (and will never stop working on) being super loose. Loose equals speed. The speed is in the release but this arm unit has to be connected to your body. So use the body to make the release. You get it. Stay focused and you will be blowing it by almost everyone. Cool feeling.

I went from 70-80 mph to 90-100 with these tips. I bought the swing radar to measure as well. One things that pushed my speed from 90 to closer to 100 was a wider stance and a long one piece takeaway. I let my arms hang there let the upper body carry them in the back swing and lower body move them forward in the down swing. I also keep my grip pressure at about a 2 out of 10. Still hoping to get to about 115ph. I need faster hip rotation now. I'd also recommend really stretching your body out before you start swinging it will really help loosen thing up and remove tension.

I've been having problems hitting my irons lately. After watching the "Effortless Power" videos I started doing a couple of slow swing at 2/3 speed before each shot then kept my backswing and arms just as loose and sped up my lower body on the actual swing. I was consistently hitting some of my best shots ever. I then tried the same on my driver with equally great results. Hopefully, this will continue for the next few rounds. I'll post an update after 5 rounds to let you know how it went.

I actually tried this, I relaxed my arms totally and let my hips drive the entire swing and i drove the ball farther than I ever have before on my home course. The only thought I had was "balanced rotation towards the target, arms relaxed". This works. I always ballon my driver, but this time, I got a low boring flight that went at least 240-250. Normally I get 190-200 trying to 'hit it hard'. I just gave that up to try this. Thanks Paul. I will continue with relaxed arms. Everyone try it!!

Glad it helped! Just keep firing the lower harder and harder. This is the power source. If you hit pushes and push fade just roll the wrists a few times and hit a few hooks. Then add body again. Then you can fire as hard as you can and hit it dead straight. All the best.

That was impressive! In just a few minutes, the Student had an increase in clubhead speed of about 5 mph! It was obvious that the Student wasn't quite comfortable applying the 2 techniques, which is Awesome because that means he's not close to his potential and if I were a betting man, I bet if he works on this, and gets comfortable implementing the changes, he'll easily reach 100 mph! It's dark outside now, but I can't wait to go out and apply this to my swing in the morning! I know my wrists aren't loose. I only swing about 93-95 mph. I hope I can finally get to 100 mph by implementing these tips! Great Video!

There's no other way to increase speed without the hips creating a whip action. The key to speed is making sure the hips move first instead of the upper body following the hips. It's a disconnected feeling at first, almost an out of control feel because most of us are upper body dominate. It was clear that the fellow in the video had much better hip snap during the drill, but upon hitting his upper body wanted to travel with his lower body which slowed down his swing. Like his brain said "Ok be careful, we're hitting a ball". I have found good results by playing with minimal focus on score, but instead, grading each swing on a scale from 1 to 10 tension level, 10 being the most tension, with a goal of under 5 per shot. I do the same for putting, chips, etc. It's not something that works overnight because the swing will feel slower with a "snap". Start with 60* wedges with 3/4 swings. Great work Paul, this is probably the 90th time I've watched this video! .

I bought your course over one year ago and included the wrist action in my game. I say, that I easily go almost 30 yards longer just because of that small variance in my swing. Thank you

Great drill. Great lesson!!! I wish it wasn’t 9:00pm or I’d be on the range applying your technique!!!

I am an 11 handicap and really enjoy your teaching methods. I have been working on this all winter and have had an oportunity to use a trackman simulator. I have see a large increase in the ball hooking from the center of the fairway up to 30 yards left. my friends are telling me I am accelorating my hips to fast but, that is what you teach for increasing club head speed...so confused!! Thanks, Paul - these two techniques helped me out. I was known for my death grip. When I made contact it went further - today I was putting for birdie a few times (& made one). The only gotcha is it's harder for me to control the contact when I'm more active with clearing my hips/legs - I topped my hybrid a few times. There may be another missing element or I need more practice with that. I'm a big guy.

Just started playing golf again after a long time away from it, got fitted for new ping clubs as my old clubs were a bit outdated I was hitting the ball ok down the fairway quit straight but found that I had lost a lot of distance seemed to hit all my irons roughly the same distance so went on internet to see if there was anything that I could do to increase my hitting seen this video and thought I would try it nothing to lose couldn’t be leave how long I was hitting my drives and irons I didn’t think I would get back to single figures again but am quite confident I’m 62 and hitting the ball nearly as long as I used too ! Thanks for a great video.

Can't wait to try this method out. I spend $250 on a lesson to increase my distance w/my driver and the guy only thought me how to properly grip and swing a club. After the session he said for $150 more we can touch the driver. What a waste! Thanks to this Effortless Power video, I might just increase my swing speed and increase yardage with my driver.

This loose feeling really helps me get into the slot more. Im not only hitting it a little further but the best thing is im more accurate... Im getting closer to my 300 yrd goal :). Took me about 4 days on the range to really get the hang of it. Thanks paul. Derek - 3 hc

Great video lesson. I can't wait to try this. I hit a plateau with my swing and can't seem to get over it. After watching this video, I realize I've been keeping my arms and wrists fairly straight in an effort to square my club head. My shots go pretty straight, but not as far as I like. This lesson and drills will help. Thanks!

This is the best training video advice I have gotten in 15 years! Watching this video and trying these basic techniques has helped me increase my swing speed from 92-94 to now averaging between 108-111. I've only practiced at the range once a week of the past 2 months... And I'm amazed how quickly my game has changed :) Crazy thing is I don't feel like I am trying nearly as hard as I used to to generate club head speed. Loose grip, loose wrists, body torque and starting my down swing with my lower body make playing golf fun again. Question: I can't seem to generate the same club head speed with irons, is that normal?

I have been playing for a long time and have a 9 handicap.. Tried your tips of the loose wrists and immediate positive results.. back to hitting drives 240 + the first three days.. up about 15 yards and I can see the more I use that in my lions too the easier it gets... Long and straight too.. Thanks

Excellent video. To add to this I see the action of the sequence of the proper rotating one hip as the 'propellant' that allows one to thrust the club forward through the ball. Much the same way as a shadow boxer might use his right hip, knee and foot to propel a knockout right hook to his imaginary opponent left chin. I shadow box a few seconds before a round of golf to looses up, which allows my lower body to connect to my upper body as I propel my swing forward. With a square set up, elbows feeling as if they are pointing to my perspective hips. and using the lower body as you describe to propel my swing forward , all I see is a blur of my club as it swings through the ball. These are swing throughs I am proud of. Approaching 70 ( in age; not, quite score yet) I am happier then I have ever been in my 40 years of struggling with golf. Many teachers are telling people to squat on the downswing. Problem is that if you are thinking of squatting during a swing you squatted to much. Thank you for reading.

Thank you. I will try this when I go to the range. I just learned the mistake I was making in my golf grip. After that, my distance increased. I saved the video link and hope it helps. Much thanks.

I watched this video last night and I thought this might be the solution for me. I headed for the driving range this morning to see if I could make it work. All years of playing golf I have struggled with a fade/slice with my driver and metalwoods. I got 28 balls out of the machine, warmed up with hitting 5 balls with my 9 iron, then went on to my trusty old Titleist 20,5 metalwood. Loosened up my wrists with a couple of waggles, then hit the ball and it went away with a pulled draw. Next ball I put some more hips into the swing and got a better swing plane, the ball went down the driving range. Dead straight! Hit 4 more balls with the 20,5, two straight and two draws. Pulled my driver out of the bag and carried on the same way as with the metalwood. Hit about 20 balls and at least half of them went away with a 3-4 yard draw. I've never before hit a draw with my driver other than on ocation. I also got very consistent ball contact on the clubface after this drill. This is by far the best and simplest golf instruction video I've ever seen and it made a huge impact on my swing, ball strike and flight path. Thank you very much from Sweden Paul, it really works!

I would have to strongly concur with this idea. Take it from someone who has seriously struggled with distance. I purchased a swing speed monitor just like the one used in the video and was only able to achieve speeds around 88 to 92 mph initially. Its been several months now of practice focusing on two things and one being loose, and I am no able to consistently swing above 115mph and maxing out at 124 and still hitting the ball solidly!!

I would love to have a swing as confident and comfortable as Pat's! I am just getting started and have been watching a lot of videos and Paul, your series is the best on youtube. I've learned so much. You answer most of the questions I've had and your instruction makes so much sense. My boss took a look at a video of my swing and he said it was a good looking swing. I have much work to do though. None of it feels natural to me
