This look like a fun element to incorporate into our planned home obstacle course for the pups. Our GSD loves to jump and so I imagine she will be thrilled. For little Corgi man, we will have to down size but he tends to be game to try anything 'big" sister does.

Awesome teaching. My IGP gsd has crazy ball drive so what I did was platz him, walk to the jump and dangle to ball above and behind the jump so he would have to dive to get it. Then just steadily raised the height. Same steps as you just different reward. Love your channel! I used pvc and some plastic netting so he can see the other side of the barrier.

I had a quick question. When training a puppy you usually use play as a reward. When they are in this training stage should they have free range to toys when you are not actively training them? Or should all toys only be available during training?

Leave chew toys out for the dog, but tugs and balls should only be out when you’re playing/training the dog.

During the imprinting stages I make them work to play with any toy. After they've been imprinted to have a strong toy drive, then I'll allow them to play with toys on their own.

My dad is going to buy me a belgian malinois what commands are the best to teach it first and what age of the puppy can i start training it

I like to start training a puppy as early as 8 weeks of age as long as they are comfortable in their new environment. I would suggest watching and following the training in my basic and advanced obedience series on this channel. Just go to the playlist section to find both series. I hope this helps!

shower thought lol - if you had to teach a dog how to detect a lie, just like a lie detector or even better knowing how much more dogs sense, how would you try to do it?

I don't think a dog would be able to detect if someone is lying, but that can detect different odors. If the person releases a different odor from stress when they're lying, a dog could probably detect that.
