A few drilling tasks I’d approach a bit differently: • Affixing the external ‘charger’, even with a fairly slim and lightweight looking unit like that, I’d at least make the top-half fixings, where there’s most pull-out force, into brick. If it looks like the charger may be bumped from the sides or underneath, all fixings into brick. • Going through wooden joists, I’d pre-drill a pilot hole all the way through, then use the final diameter hole saw from both sides of each joist to avoid blowing splinters out on the exit. • If possible, drill outdoors inwards so there’s less or no brick damage and less dust indoors, seal the hole if you can’t drill slightly upwards to help keep rain/insects/mice out.

I always thought low voltage data cable was not allowed in consumer units . It’s the same with bell wire . Unless it’s got a extra sleeving

That’s a good question . The sleeving is usually used when you have a SELV circuit which uses double insulation between primary and secondary side. In this case we’d have to explore how the charger generates the LV supply for the remote unit.

Great vid although the CT DIN rail module with a resister in the top arrangement really puts me off this product! I can see that you are using D-Line clips, but please can you tell me what actual nails you are fixing them with and whether they would only really hold in the brick

Is the unit OCPP compliant so it could use TAP Electric etc? Btw could you do a review using that system?

Interesting no comments regarding dc adversely affecting the RCD in main board. I just enquired this of nic help line regarding solar PV into existing board and was advised that I probably needed to swap out both RCD's. I also enquired about locations with sub boards and whether there was a minimum distance, dudnt seem to sure. Sub board seamed to be a get out of jail, but is it right? Looking at large commercial property with maybe 20 sub boards for large pv, battery and possibly rapid charging will all type AC need replacing? All circuits retesting? Rcd trip times only? Would get very expensive, even just swapping the two RCD's is over £100 + work + testing. I had hoped to see a great discussion. There must be hundreds of pv ev systems out there on type AC have there been any incidents?

I'm pretty sure that we only need to upgrade RCDs where the current to our EV circuit passes through the RCD in question. Since, in this case, the tails have been split before the type AC RCD, any DC from the EV will not affect the it and we are good to go as is.

I just installed the N1 CT clamp, as an addition for my Wallbox pulsar plus. Is it normal that it is light up red with 12v coming from the unit, and if i turn the 220v on for de N1 CT then its flashing red. I cannot find any informatio about that. Thanx

would this eco boost work in my case : i have hybrid inverter and 10kw of solar but in my country we cannot by law sell back to grid energy. so in my inverter solar sell is turned off . does that means even if i have excess solar becuase selling is turned off this wont work for me ?

Hi eFIXX, suddenly I have major problems with my Wallbox Max Plus. It will not charge my car what so ever, all was ok until a few weeks ago. I did all the recommended steps from Wallbox customer support, but nothing works. The wallbox is ready to use, no fault, no warnings, no nothing. Full connection with wifi and blue tooth. All app is uppdated. But it will not start charge the car!!??. The thing will only connect to Bluetooth, not wifi. I have super good wifi!. I refuse to connect to it. Pls, help.

Wallbox have software problems and I regret buying mine. My new Wallbox Pulsar Plus 40-amp charger was installed by a Qmeret certified electrician and due to bad software, it took numerous calls over almost two weeks to just charge my EV. Still some features don’t work. At the prices Wallbox charges you should not be beta testing their products. If it wasn’t a hardwired installation I would return the charger.

Perhaps wallbox is worth another chance then. Their first Pulsar model was terrible to install. Too small. No space to work the rigid wires into fragile clamps. Broke easily.
