Your voice is so calming when you talk. It seems that your a man with a lot of patience. Something I lack. Great video as always. Thank-You!

Most of the voice over video is done at 4:30 am before I head out to work. I'm calm because I'm still groggy. On that ride to work I often think of things that would been more of a help in the videos but I prefer to do them in one take unless I see that there was some breakfast hanging in my beard :-)

I learned to use my cellphone for parts, where they go, etc. that my friend is a real puzzle! and with interuptions you are a patient man. Thank you for your talents and vids, i have repaired my 2 strokers on my own. thank God for youtube too!

I've noticed that older people are more patient and I believe its because we were not brought up with the instant answers we now get from the internet. I see young people get frustrated when the first video they watch isn't giving them the answer they need. I'm not saying its bad but it is different and creates a different kind of person that expects instant results. Good job with those repairs!

You sir…are a trooper. I would’ve fired that thing into the woods and told him it couldn’t be fixed😆
@TheGreasyShopRag3 ай бұрын
Ego already told him I'd fix it. Because we don't tell anybody we handle Ego warranty, most of our work comes from Ego. A consumer calls and asks where the nearest repair center is and they give them paperwork to bring to the shop.

@@TheGreasyShopRag From a money making point of view that makes total sense, it looks like you got through it just fine! Out of curiosity, what would a repair like that cost at your shop?
@TheGreasyShopRag3 ай бұрын
@@wizardsofwisconsin7400 My employer has asked me not to discuss shop rates but the time would be half an hour plus parts. Not sure what Ego is paying us but I'm gonna look into that.
@wizardsofwisconsin74003 ай бұрын
@@TheGreasyShopRag Understood. Our shop has an hourly rate but it’s rarely even asked about by the customer, it’s just….”What’s the total”? You’re going to have that one person occasionally who wants a breakdown so they can complain about it but not often. I hope you’re getting paid right no matter what for your skills!

My EGO saw is an older version, their original. Used it today to make chunks if bkack cherry wood for the meat smoker. I forget how old it is, maybe 10 years or so, no problems. That sure was a puzzle!

Gotta love a puzzle.....probably cost more in labor than the saw was worth!....Of course if covered by a warranty not the customers problem....

I need to ask our warranty rep if we won or lost on that one. Either way theres not much I can do but try to be as efficient as possible.

Impressed with a clean towel. Do you ever use dye and I’ve light to find oil leaks? I know most times they are easy. You are very good at puzzles.
@TheGreasyShopRag3 ай бұрын
I've experimented with dye but never continued its use. What a guy really needs is dye and a time lapse camera. Of course thats way overkill for chainsaw repair.

In your unbiased opinion, who makes the best small cordless chainsaw? Something that would be good to take on a quad for clearing trails
@TheGreasyShopRag3 ай бұрын
I've not been inside all brands of battery saws so I can't form a fair opinion. For you the answer is probably Ryobi. When someone is standing in the showroom we try to match a saw to their needs. "Best" might mean different things to different people. (weight, run time, bar length, etc). That stihl 4" pruner might be a lightweight choice but I don't know the run time. A Husqvarna T540 will run a long time and is durable but costs about a grand for the kit. Echo makes a nice 18" saw but that may be too bulky for atv use.

@@TheGreasyShopRag As I've commented before, California doesn't think we need gas saws anymore, so I hope you're right. I live in redwood country and if they come out with a battery powered 572xp.... I'll be okay with that if it can rip
