Sometimes, the hardest things to hear are the most needed ones. As a "jack of trades", I have no real expertise in any one thing, and while I can adequately do a lot of things, there is ALWAYS room for improvement--even in the few things I do well. Great message, and one that serious preppers should seriously consider!

I've been in the plumbing business for 25 years Bear, and what I do is find a relationship between the bust ass hard work I've put in over the years to get the job done at all cost , you do not have the option to fail.....or say "well it's just not going to get done today" , NO !!! There is no option to be incomplete , it has to get done and pass inspection so everyone gets paid therefore smiles on faces !!! Nobody said it would be easy to make it happen, and your body will hurt and you may cut the crap out of your hands , but you did what it took to make it happen. I find a way to tie these 2 together to apply the same ethics and morals in many situations in life. To be the best tradesman I could be took many days of digging ditches in Florida and not giving up 👍👍👍

Bear, I'm a 50 something woman who watched you do the 75 hard and that was my kick in the pants, and I continue to push myself. According to doctors I'm terminal but I have Yaw and what He says trumps anything the doctors say. Amazing video to keep us going love you doing it in the woods, with coffee my husband and I do that with our 13 year old boy occasionally. If people talk to Yaw with a sincere heart He will provide the strength you need when you need it, but you can't just stop there you have to keep building is what I have learned from life and your videos just in case your wondering if your reaching people, you are. Thanks to Yaw for raising you up to do this, and thanks to your family and tribe. Shalom

I had a similar conversation with a friend yesterday. Being your own boss requires you to be the best employee, if you're not willing to do what is necessary and beyond then no one else will, you must put in the work, you must be humble and you must have a solid foundation. Being comfortable while being uncomfortable. God always rewards! Thank you Bear for a much needed and much appreciated video! 🙏❤️🌏

I love Jerry Miculek's outlook. He's (IMO) the best all around shooter alive today but he has open ears and eyes to every new person that shoots a match to see if they are doing somthing that could potentially make him better. Most 3 gun guys at that level have a huge ego.

I used to live in the hood and defend myself about every week, and usually against multiple guys (2 to 10). I took lots of damage from age 6 to 12, but from age 13 to 25, I never succumbed to my attackers, although I still took some damage. I thought I was invincible regardless what came my way. I met a guy who had never been in a fight, but he was a 7th degree BB. We played around and I can't describe how outclassed I was, I had to change my mind on everything I believed about myself. I trained at his feet for maybe 4 yrs, I still go through the motions of what he taught me. Unfortunately, the injuries of my past have caught up to me and I'm virtually crippled (55 now). I can barely walk a 1/4mi, much less jog or run, but I'm still very difficult to take in close quarters (even against my young collegiate wrestler friend) . Unfortunately, I'll just have to hunker down when SHTF. Regardless, I believe everything you said in the video. I need to try something, regardless how uncomfortable it is.

I have a dog, she never quits. I have been walking here everyday during the week at least 2 miles. Now I pushed through that with a really bad knee. On the weekends we would do 4 miles in the morning and 1/2 mile in the evening. This year I was pushing myself to get out hunting again. I put a ruck on and carried a rifle for 6 days strait. Between hunting and walking the dog I think I clock 35 miles. My legs where in so much pain, but let me tell you my knee is much better now and of course the muscle pain went away. Now I can take the dog miles with out any real issues at a fast pace. It was the drive that made me get up and throw on a pack. It made my body stronger. I am now going to ruck when we walk on the weekends just for maintenance.

Good video Bear! Great message! I have found humility and poise to require a lifetime of practice and mindfulness. Alan may be a little wacky but he knows some stuff LOL! As an old guy (only 61) and stiff and sore, I recommend...KEEP MOVING but don't tear stuff! You'll pay for it later. I hear many a Marine / SF Soldier mention how they destroyed their back, knees, etc.. by pushing TOO hard.

I live in Maine, I'm assuming it's about the same everywhere, but I can't get anybody to train up here. It's 100% ego. You can be the nicest person ever and be super understanding, make the excuses for them, literally provide everything necessary, and people will still refuse to look "stupid ". The value of what they are going to learn isn't worth the shame or whatever you want to call it of the process. They want to keep the facade going. When you do get people who are serious... more often than not they are scary serious, not in a good way either. I pray often for guidance let's just put it that way.

Bane said it best: “Peace has cost you your strength; victory has defeated you.” I got out of the army (6 years airborne infantry) and got lazy with pt. Threw on an 80lb ruck for a hike about a year ago and looked like a sorry bag of ass from the first step. It’s a good wake up call. Since that day I’ve heavy rucked at least twice a week. And am now back up to 80lbs for 15 miles in about 5 hours flat. Can’t expect to live long if you’re not living a life worth that extra time.

When the balloon goes up; I’m just gonna kick all of y’all back in play. Just keep moving go bother somebody else. If the ones that didn’t prepare like we did cause too much drama well then we’re gonna have to make their drama permanently quiet. Good luck everyone from the hundred percent disabled veteran with a walker and a cane and recovering from kidney Surgery yet again. And I still have fight left in me. And I won’t be doing up close I’ve done up close before. That was in Iraq. I have plenty of range around me to reach out and touch you before you ever get close to me. And then it becomes a question do I reach out and touch you or just let you go by and not even let you know that I’m even here. That would be some wisdom. Thanks Bear love you brother you are awesome. And yes I am trying to do some things lol

Your explanation reminded me of the karate kid when Mr Myagi (dunno how to spell his name, forgive me) was telling him to paint the fence, wax on, wax off and all the other mundane stuff, and in the remake, jacket on, jacket off. Daniel didn't realize it at first, but the body moments in the work ended up being the basis for movements in actual fighting stances and such and it blew his mind when he explained that to him. Mr Myagi was just a "repairman" but it was an illusion. Mr Myagi was teachable and was able to teach later on. Mr Myagi was extremely humble as well. Like you said, you can't be taught if your ego is in the way.
