I just finished installing it on my Jeep Gladiator. It’s an incredible! Top quality superb fit and finish. It is a OEM level top-notch product. I did it all without drilling. Used existing holes in each corner of the bed using a reducer coupling. The video with some tips on how to do it is online.

I was initially thinking there would be an issue with switching the passive door unlock to driver only would cause the cover to open as well (if inside 2 seconds) when you wanted to unlock all the doors, but I didn't realise they were separate settings for the remote vs the passive button on the door handle. I had to go and check on my truck right after the video. I could probably get used to that change on the passive door by using the remote for all the doors or just open drivers door then use the unlock button inside the door to get the rest open for passengers. Is it possible to disable the remote functions on the cover at all? I could see there being times where it would be nice to avoid accidentally running the cover seeing it's so easy to bump the remote button twice. - hitting lock twice to hear the horn honk to confirm the truck is locked at a distance for example.

I personally am not sure at this moment. But hopefully EGR sees the comment and can advise if there is a disable option. My guess is not without an ECU update again. But, I really have no idea.

@@Donslife If you left the setting on your remote to driver first, would the EGR ECU ignore the first unlock signal sent from the remote and essentially require 3 unlocks presses to open the cover? 1 for driver, then two more that the EGR would be seeing from the passenger door output?

I think it is two presses or ‘signals’ within a couple seconds

It's two clicks of the remote within about a second. If you leave the fob settings at two clicks to open all doors, the RollTrac will open when you double click as well. Single click opens all doors setting isolates that. @@PriceC

​@@patjohnson7952It would depend on which input/unlock signal is being used by the EGR ECU. If it's looking at the drivers door unlock signal then that would be the case. If it's looking at the passenger door unlock signal for its inputs, it wouldn't pick up the drivers door signal from the first press of the fob if the truck is set to drivers priority vs all doors. It would (potentially) require the third unlock to trigger the EGR because it's only seeing two. I would have to take a look at wiring diragrams to know for sure, which I haven't done. This wouldn't be the case with locking as there is no priority there and they are all locked with one button press.

I bought a Revolver X4 for my 2023 AT4. I really like it but on the few occasions I've had to keep it rolled up for more than a few hours I don't like the cover roll. It's just my personal preference since it doesn't effect the rear view from the driver's seat. When I was looking for a cover I didn't pay much attention to the auto roll up covers. I didn't want to be stranded by a expensive cover that I couldn't get to move due to failed parts. That wouldn't be a concern with a manual cover. After watching Don' install this auto cover I sort of wished I would have given them a better look before I bought the Revolver X4. That's the thing about this channel. Its like crack... once Don starts another mod to his AT4 I just got to do it too... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How does it hold up in winter weather? Does it freeze up when its frosty?

I have made videos. Had it working as low as -24°C / -11°F. Below that the motor will protect itself. Just like power windows and folding mirrors. I think how much humidity is in the air that is allowed to freeze plays a big role.

If it freezes, can you unfreeze it easily? I have had a folding hard cover and when it freezes to the tailgate and then I can’t open the tailgate

So i tried opening my EGR cover yesterday when it was frozen and snowy. It tried to open but quit right away. Now it won't go into learn mode again. I verified the fuses and the unlock signal. Is there a reset on these when it is frozen shut and trying to open?

I am not sure. Mine will quit right away too when there is too much resistance. Maybe disconnect main power for several minutes, reconnect and then try (once the resistance is removed/melted)

@@Donslife So I keep this going to help others. I got ahold of EGR, the tech was very good. He determined that my motor was bad and possibly ECU. They are sending me a new motor and ECU. I asked them about the 4 unlock update to prevent premature opening at the car wash. He said no problem they will get me the upgrade. Happy with their response, from beginning to end of diagnostics 2 hrs.

Did you have any issues in the paring mode as well as the calibration mode?

Not at all. The EGR Rolltrac is reading the lock/unlock commands as the truck receives them and then acting accordingly. Calibration has went smoothly for me and only needs to be redone if I disconnect the battery for other projects

I think they are the best built at the time of replying to this. EGR makes OE grade accessories. Many of the top manufacturers list EGR parts on their website for sale. When I attended SEMA, I was able to see some of the competitors firsthand and there were noticeable build quality differences. However, they are the most expensive. The question would be, ‘is it worth it for you?’

Neat upgrade! Out of curiosity, if you double-click the lock button to close, can you then unlock your doors by single-clicking the unlock button or does that stop the cover from closing? I'm thinking of a situation where you toss something in the back real quick and then want to hop in the truck but don't want to wait for the cover to close first. I guess with the passive unlock on the driver handle it wouldn't be a big deal if the rest of the family was already loaded up. Super important details for those frigid winter days!! 🤣

Hey Don, thanks for all of the great content, I have a GMC 2018 Yukon Denali, which I really like, but one quirk about it, I can't seem to set my mirrors to the key fob when I get into the truck. Let me explain, so I can set it to memory 1, but each time I get in, instead of just sitting where I left it, I am really the only driver on this vehicle, it defaults to who knows what and forces me to hit the #1 memory button for it to go to my preset mirror memorization settings.....it would be really nice if it would just stay stationary as I literally drive this Yukon like 99.99% of the time. Thanks for any help/advice you can lend to me or if you've ever experienced this before and know anything I can do to remedy it! Thank you, Brian

Nightmare? My daughter filmed me doing it solo and my wife helped lift it in the truck. I think because it is time consuming they might be worried about the labour calculation. I really don’t know why. Once installed, it is solid and works well. At least for me

One problem.... I love mine now that I have had it a while. However I wish there were a way to disable the key fob option. I went thru the car wash last week and they must of touched my door handle twice in a row, as my truck started into the wash the cover opened and no one saw it. All my tools and 30 years of shop manuals got soaked. I will say EGR help desk is NOT VERY HELPFULL. I called, the lady was VERY nice and said she would talk to the tech guys and they would call later or next day. No call.... I email.... no return email. Being is the service business I love the cover but their support is non existent. Mine is on a 23 Ram Limited EcoDiesel, I will have to wire a switch in my dash to disable the power to the ecu when at the car wash. Im guessing then I will have to go thru a re-learn after switching back on.

Reached out to them for actual t-slot dimensions on the rails so I could source after market t-nuts and the technician was absolutely zero help! How does Roll-trac not know the actual dimensions of their rails (or have a source for the t-nuts)??

@@benfilas6441 I called about to weeks ago and inquired and never heard anything back. I don't know how big of business they are. I am a small business owner and then to be pretty patient with things like this. I will try calling again after the holiday.
