An angler's loop, otherwise known as a perfection loop. I really like how you take the time to get a good camera angle to show the different knots, and tackle you use. There are lots of little things you often show that make your videos worth watching. It Sure it’s fun to watch hauling nice Halibut, and it’s nice to learn something at the same time.

Thanks, appreciate you mentioning the small things. A lot of it is the same ol' same ol' to us, so sometimes forget to really explain things. But we're definitely trying to get more detail into the videos!

A suggestion. When doing some of the mundane tasks such as baiting hooks, specify the parts such as hook type, size, leader type and length and snap type. I think it is interesting for us not in the business.

I'll note that down for next season, thanks!

I haven't seen so many sharks. Did you get a count of how many you caught. Thanks for sharing, and better luck on the next set.
@EISAlaska24 күн бұрын
Yep, I put the approximate tally at the end of the haul! Slow set but that's just how it goes sometimes, fishing is fishing!

Awesome weather unfortunately the hooks came up fairly empty or the wrong prey. Funny how it can be great fishing in crappy weather yet stinky in wonderful weather. Go figure! 👍💖

As a new member to your channel, I was wondering if you had any idea which part of the bait gets hit the most?
@EISAlaska24 күн бұрын
Nah, we do tend to notice that cod gets hit a lot, but I think the other bait is equally effective. The only difference is that cod skin is hard to take off, so it sticks on even after they thrash it for a while.

did you refer to the top line over your boat as a bird line? what is the function of this? **** EDIT, it looks like its a set length of line that trails behind the boat with lines to disturb the water above your line, maybe to literally stop birds from eating and hooking themselves on the sinking line? someone let me know

Can you use some of the sharks as cut bait? If you can, you will never run out of bait.

Can you use spiny dogfish for bait?
@EISAlaska24 күн бұрын
Sure, but they are a pain to deal with. Hard to cut up and hard to put on the hook, also de-baiting. The skin is too tough!

Can’t you use the sharks for bait?
@bbsl196724 күн бұрын
With all of those sharks and starfish that you bring up, you could have an aquarium and make extra monies with that. Just saying. 🐳🐋🐬🐟🐠🐙

How do you handle 4 hours on your feet ?
@EISAlaska24 күн бұрын
Staying busy and distracted I suppose. Jigging is harder I find in that respect. The actual work days are longer and you don't more around quite as much.
@jimlombard767124 күн бұрын
what was that count? sharks 398 halibut 2?
@michaelbrausch887424 күн бұрын
Why do you drive so far to fish? Aren’t there any fish closer?
@EISAlaska24 күн бұрын
There is a lot of pressure around port. For the amount of fish we need to catch we prefer to run a bit and hopefully get to grounds that aren't fished so much. If we have a little bit of cleanup, say a few hundred pounds, we'll fish around home.
@medicmom055024 күн бұрын
