Some amps literally “throw” the notes out! The upward picking allows for an escape to quickly move to the next downstroke. Tremendous help for my speed! Thank you as always Eric.

Thanks EJ. Might you discuss different types, materials, shapes, etc of picks sometime? I play mostly acoustic and unplugged and very much enjoy the various tones from such. Blessings...

The way you arpeggiate your phrases and the tonal control have always been the most interesting aspects to your playing in my opinion. Guess I am just stating the obvious though.

Underrated? Most guitarist know Eric Johnson is boss. If you want to talk about under rated talk about Phil Keaggy.

@@sammygutierrez9048 underrated doesn't mean "hardly ever heard of" when you think of the greats you think of EVH or SRV or the likes. EJ is not usually on the list and that's why he's underrated

I know what he means. Rolling Stone had an issue of "100 Greatest Guitar Players of All Time". Eric wasn't on the list, but Kurt Cobain was. Lol

I’m going to make an odd comment here. You should really have a good photographer photograph your hands artistically. After all, they are thee most important tool you use to express your music. I appreciate this lesson, is what I came here for.
