Yeah ... the weight on the snare was one of the first things I noticed Well, he tunes the snare HIGH. Fast playing surface. But the weight takes up square inches on the playing surface forcing him to play near the edge where the tension is even higher. He'll get a boost in speed done that way.Regardless, I love what he does!
