It might be a stupid thing to say but.... To make a car turn whilst wheeling means play in bushings of driveline or drag. So either crusty rubber bushings. Moving rear end on leafs?? Or Oil/Grease/Hf viscosity isn't the same. (Highly unlikely being how precise MR is) At a push maybe the uneaven pad wear causing one brake to be holding for a millisecond longer due to heat cycle?? Leaning towards the Bushings myself!! Seen the tires flex on that thing many times.... Something's gotta give! Stick it on a dyno and measure the wheel speed independently!!

Use a soft tapemeasure, usually used for sewing, and you can wrap it around the tire and measure diameter easier then rolling your tires on the ground to check rollout.

By no means an expert with any of this but radial tire pull is a thing. There doesn't necessarily need to be an external defect in the tire to create a pull. the way the belts are stacked in the casing can create a pull. more evident on the front when fighting an alignment issue but it could be possible that it would effect the car from the rear especially under hard load. You could possibly cross rotate the rear tire and see if it drive the other direction, that would be easy to do unless they are a directional tire. Just a thought.

Yes a quarter inch height entire difference will definitely make a vehicle pool. You can try putting about 80PSI in the tire that is smaller let it sit out in the sun for a couple hours let the air out down to the normal pressure and check it again. At the trick I learned about 30 years ago.

You could measure the difference in tire size from right to left also known as stagger with measuring tape. I’m a sprint car guy and have to know the difference in stagger fast. Just measure the circumference of the two tires using a thin flexible tape like the Stanley 10’. Then subtract the small number from the big one and that’s your answer.

work with the tireshop that mounts youre tires and keep mounting tires and measure the circumference untill you get a matching set , either that or find a way to take some of the surface on the tall tire (one wheel peel)

Off the car over inflate the tire with the least circumference, and leave it in the hot sun for a couple hours. The short tire will grow, and it is a lot safer than shaving a tire. Also they do this in dirt track racing to stagger tires so it should work in drag racing to unstagger tires. :)

I had the same problem with my car steering and it was the caltrac they were bowling and losing distance in either going left or right because they are too small in diameter so what I did I build my own out of 1 1/2 chromoly 4140 120 wall

What I do with l/r tyres when I want a little less stagger. Works though they always shrink back during the course of the event.
