My best friend died of an over dose near a dumpster and people walked by her for 15 hours before someone finally took a second to check on her and realise she was dead. Now, I never walk by someone passed out or slumped over on the street - please don't walk by them either :( . I always check that they're breathing/conscious and I always carry a dose of naloxone in my bag (a drug that revives someone instantly from an opioid overdose). I could save someone else's best friend, mother, daughter, son, husband ... etc.

I see comments like yours on every video I see when true crime narrators state that a witness thought that. While I'm not getting the impression that you're criticizing, I'm genuinely confused as to why people think that's odd. It's human nature for the mind to believe that something they're seeing isn't actually what's there when something horrible happens. It's the mind's way of protecting itself. At any rate, I've never anticipated seeing a dead body and certainly hope that I never do. I don't see how that's a bad thing to not be expecting it.

Crystal sounds amazing too. Just a young couple looking to build a life together. So heart breaking. I'm not even mad at Crystal's parents. They have their beliefs/religion. And that matters. The fact that they didn't just write their daughter off as dead to them shows they loved her and wanted her to be happy. I'm sure having such a huge divide between their beliefs and their daughter's life was hard for them; but it sounds like they were getting to the point of accepting it.

Eleanor, one more comment. Thank you for the coverage of LGBT victims and victims of color. My son is gay and is a big fan of makeup and is such a wonderful, colorful human being. And I fear for his life every time he walks out of our front door. We live in a small South Carolina town. I wish we didn't live in such a hateful world. But let's keep telling their stories, regardless of race, faith or sexual orientation.

@@sbfairy I agree with you! My first thought when Eleanor confirmed it was her criminal father was to check out the child for any type of abuse or grooming. Plus, where TF was granny? Shouldn’t she have been home to hear the attacks and witness the aftermath?? Plus, my thought with the sheet isn’t that the killer cared about seeing her rather, using the sheet in moving her body made it easier given her head was in such bad shape and oozing brain matter. I’ll bet the whole reason the father “cleaned” the car was so it would be given to him once it was located if they hadn’t figured out it was him.

@@dn8387 I had a hard time with the “sheet theory” too. I could see if the person expressed remorse when they were caught but he didn’t. He was pretty cold blooded about the whole thing. I mean it definitely affects her, as it would anyone else, but some people can take it a lot better than others. I know a few people who can look at murder scenes without flinching and others who can’t look at that without throwing up.

Christian Daugherty I don’t think that’s what this person was implying at all, black lives matter/black trans lives matter are just very prominent movements right now at this current moment in time, but regardless, recognizing that black lives matter does NOT take away from other minorities being discriminated against/murdered/etc. Thinking that way is not progressive at all.
